Thanks for the great tips and evaluation of products. I have an easy bump compared to yours. I am leaning towards Harbor Freight and getting the needed arsenal. If none of it works, then it stays where it is.

Took me about 3hrs with the wheel attached, a couple of places were difficult to see the back side and I was too stubborn to turn the car on and simply turn the wheel as needed. However if you are thinking about doing this I do recommend it, but also don't be stubborn turn the car on and turn the wheel as needed.

Softer bars in the front/stiffer bars in the front are always the ideal setup in FWD or more specifically transversely-mounted front-engine cars. Since the engine is mounted much more ahead of the front axle compared to a mid-engined car it’ll need more coersion to rotate the rear.

These covers are hit or miss. I installed 2 on an BMW 435i that came out pretty well. Ordered 1 for my BMW M340i and it did not fit at all. Contacted the vendor and they were no help. Beware.

Not near enough HP, ever go to a go kart track that they all go exactly 7mph?

I believe the rear diffuser is the main issue. It doesn’t work well at short tracks because the cars don’t go fast enough for it to be effective.
@TJ75z
@TJ75z 2 ай бұрын
Is it possible that the main issue is the ride height and platform control requirements? Xfinity and Trucks both have minimum ride height rules, which had been abandoned in the Cup Series in 2014. Gen 4 had coil-binding, then the COT introduced bumpstops; both implemented by teams to control the platform. With no ride height rules, the cars move less due to the bump stops and high rebound shocks, introduced in the Gen 6 era and exaggerated in the Next Gen era. Assuming NASCAR implements a ride height rule, with restrictions on the bump stops and outlawing coil-binding (max number of coils), an emphasis will be placed on the mechanical platform rather than the areo platform. It seems at least to be an easy item to test with limited cost to teams and partners

They've tested at much higher ride heights and it often ended up worse than what is currently in the rules.

Bristol and Richmond have proved its the tire. The current slick is too big. Add that to low HP and brakes thst are too big this is what you get.
@nomadman5288
@nomadman5288 2 ай бұрын
It's partially the tire not wearing how it needs to, but there are definitely other factors.
@wrongwayfeldman3247
@wrongwayfeldman3247 2 ай бұрын
The thing that makes me think this is mostly not an aero issue is they tried testing with no diffuser at Richmond last year I think and the drivers said there was little difference. I think it's part HP, part wider tires, part new suspension, and part aero. I have no idea how they'll get back the short track racing we had before with this car.
@doitfordale7068
@doitfordale7068 2 ай бұрын
Aero-wise, there wasn't too much of a difference. However, drivers commented that they could yaw the car out more without the diffuser.
