John Mark provides some context, keeping things grounded for John Tyson, who's four steps ahead. Easy there, John T-rein it in and slow it down a bit! 🤣

Taylor is still alive too (John said ‘was’). If you want to properly get your head around these concepts read Andy Root directly; he’s got this stuff the closest I’ve ever seen.

1. You're pronouncing Nietzsche incorrectly 2. Nietzsche wasn't "anti God." He had a lot of respect for Christ, but thought the church corrupted the religion before it ever had a chance 3. He didn't have a "nihilistic worldview." He, like everyone else not in denial, acknowledged we live in a nihilistic universe. Nearly all of his writings are dedicated to what we can possibly do to overcome this fact without religion (given religion's increasingly apparent lack of validity) 4. A much more likely explanation for his last words are that he, despite having a towering intellect, still knew nothing in comparison to the mysteries of life and the universe. It could also have been a reflection on how scrambled his mind had become relative to its former glory. Why are Christians so insistant on spreading these myths that great intellectuals throughout history said at the very end they were wrong about everything? Not a single one of these stories checks out. These Christians would rather lie than convert people into denial by honest means.

Dionysus wasnt a demon god. Just a god. Yeah through a christian view dionysus being a god of debauchery would be evil. But the greeks didnt view divinity as good or bad. Each of their gods were terrible and awesome. None were above the temptations that mortals also had. They were flawed. Capable of great evil and great good. Dionysus was just a party god. Sometimes praised at parties by people who wanted to have fun and great crazy. But also had a lot of stories about atrocious acts he supposedly committed.

@@erikacook3056 thats jewish scripture not christian. Old testament was renounced by christ. Hence "new testament" Id think a christian would know that

25:33 This is, of course, assuming the people doing the preaching have in fact moved beyond stage 3, or even know there's a stage 3 to move beyond.

Re: Krueger 13:39 Sure! It kind of reminds me of the classic move of accusing your enemies and critics as being fueled by resentment. Rhetorically bulletproof.

I mean... I don't know that I'd call the setting of Lotz's remarks (which actually seems to be a conservative, Christian radio show hosted by Steve Deace in 2016) "mainstream".

Love all of the content guys, I however find myself agreeing with Tyson the most, and what I'm wondering is where in the New Testament do we really see this sort of Pastoral Self-Preservation? I'm not saying that we as Pastors Serve everyone, all the time, do all the things, but man, I wonder how Paul would respond to this sort of self care/soul care language? He was killed in the street and his Disciples raised him to life, and he kept going, I'm sure he traveled slower, but we never see a time where Paul was like, I just need to crash for months on end to get right, Pauls sabbatical was against his will and in Prison for the Glory of God. This seems like Millennial doesn't love the grind language, instead of present yourself a living Sacrifice.

Thank you for sharing this. I am a fulltime pastor and a fulltime public school teacher. Two fulltime vocations and I'm currently facing some of these issues. My predicament is that I serve at a small church that cannot afford a fulltime minister, therefore I have often found myself carrying the church. It has cost me greatly, but I am giving myself a window of time for the Lord to do what He wants with the church, as I know that my current situation is not sustainable. Thank you for the honestly in this video.
