You over-roll your 'r's. It's TaRahumara, not TaRRhumara. Otherwise, cool video.

This is thought provoking. Long distance running is probably the best form of aerobic exercise. The trick is avoiding injury. Tarahumara also seem to have a very healthy diet. All of this also helps to explain the skill Tarahumara in war.

To the creator, thank you for this video. I read Born to Run and have a hard time visualizing things! This video was like an essay or article but with those images to bring it to life. Also amazing for accessibility - the audio was not at all jarring and was clear enough for the auto transcription, images were relevant and the video editing was very smooth and gave lots of processing time. This was a really great watch :)

4:17 - I don't think Micah actually did much barefoot running. Throughout the book, he almost seemed to think Barefoot Ted was kind of crazy and even irresponsible for running barefoot. He did periodically run in sandals, though. Also, I don't think Tarahumara run barefoot much if ever. As I recall, when some were presented with Barefoot Ted's Luna brand sandals, they said they were too thin.

I'd like to see some of the big sports companies such as adidas & nike getting behind, equipping & sponsoring these amazing runners as they do with the likes of the mighty Kenyan distance runners....I'd love to see these amazing Tarahumara tribespeople compete in the Olympic games & major world marathon events etc...& also chefs to be sponsored for them to continue outside their country with the necessary dietary products & corn beer etc.
