There are different kind of movies. Some movies want to tell a story, while some go abstract (maybe dreamlike like David Lynch movies, avantgarde like Godard movies, and so much more). One camp *tells* themes and ideas, the other *evokes* them. Mainstream movies, especially those made in Hollywood and big studios tend to be traditional and have "logical plot" so they can appeal to all audiences. This movie is of the other group that understands that movies are about sound and moving images, not just story. You can do so much more with movies when you stop treating it as strictly a logical storytelling thing. This one tries to be like poetry, wanting to connect cosmic events, time and space, a small suburban family, random shots of nature and religion to find meaning in life.

The book of Job. God allows that Job be victimized by illness and horrible circumstances. Job cries out to God, wanting to know why he must go through so much suffering. God asks him, 'Where were you when I created the heavens and earth'? God sizes his suffering down to a speck in the greater cosmos of life and meaning. The movie starts with the suffering and regret of a single family. It then portrays the bigger picture of the universe being created. The billions of years it took just to begin the insignificant story of Job.

Never thought someone out there would make a Charles Hamilton type beat. 'Preciate you. One thing I noticed is that he sometimes would sample 2000s era Pop music, if you want inspiration going forward.
