I'm kinda upset that Tang Soo Do doesn't get enough recognition as Tae Kwon Do as a korean martial art.
@academy_of_gung_fu_est.20232 ай бұрын
Ya that’s cause Tae Kwon Do does fancy tricks so of course it’s going to stand out. But when it comes to fighting they are on the same field. Tang Soo Do is dying from what I’ve seen. They recently highlighted it in the cobra kai series saying that’s what cobra kai uses.

A martial art made for the movies😂
@academy_of_gung_fu_est.2023 Жыл бұрын
I can agree with that. It does help with defense but the offense isn’t that great and the stance obviously wouldn’t be a good idea.
@randomvidz8742 Жыл бұрын
@@academy_of_gung_fu_est.2023 yep it's stance is the main issue as you can easily be countered and become un-balanced which limits the offense. The defence is decent against an average person and it seems like a fun thing to learn and practise as hobby. Also martial arts depend on the practitioner and how they apply it in real life combat.
@academy_of_gung_fu_est.2023 Жыл бұрын
@randomvidz8742 ya I agree 100. I’d rather be on my toes and be more bladed in my stance. The blocks help well with muscle memory though.
@randomvidz8742 Жыл бұрын
@@academy_of_gung_fu_est.2023 that's good you adjusted the stance. And yeah the block is actually one of the good things of wing chun unlike the other flashy moves that are 99% useless unless you hit them in the groin

@@academy_of_gung_fu_est.2023 My primary system is Lama Pai. It originated in Tibet but after it made it's way into China it became a larger, greater system. I do enjoy learning CLF. The current CLF form I'm learning now is Buddha Palm. We also have Buddha palm in Lama which I learned 3 years ago. The systems have a lot of similarities but the differences make training an interesting challenge.
