Notice to a solitary reference to the appaling state medical services with the Australian armed forces. This restriction the Army in deploying more than a company group for 60 days. And the generals have no plans to addrss this issue as it not exciting or involved in glamorous machines

You are sent there (where ever that may be by the Federal Government of the day) NOT because as these Seniors keep banging on about gobbledegook words. Soldiers are SENT whether THEY like it or NOT??? These Seniors had best look at the Infantry creed about seizing and holding ground.

Excellent video! We should always been thinking in the terms of 2 divisions ( 1 regular 1 reserve) and if smaller task forces need to be deployed, use the most suitable units & sub units for the task. Breaking up large units into smaller jack of all trade units made no sense to me. Cheers

Stick at it. It took me 10yrs but I finally got the traffic speed limit reduced to 40kmph for all NSW Emergency responders in our work zones. To create a safer work space and to protect the public also

the Reserve Army should be responsible for supply chain duties. We all know how important the supply chain is in times of war. The amount of hard work and all of the equipment you would need to supply the army with what it needs and what you need to protect those supply chains will keep the Reserve occupied for the long term and into the future. We should have a National Guard. with army, police, firefighting, and SES training all in one. To do all the firefighting

I think we should drop the WOKE BS and get back to proper conventional, Aser metrical, and Counter Terrorism, training. As our Defense Force has been deemed not fit for purpose by our strongest Ally we should be focused on a realistic strategy to fix it! If we do not present a hard target we only invite our enemies to knock on the door. They will use passive methods to undermine our security and neutralize our Defense from the inside. The current state of the Defense Force has evolved into something I don't recognize anymore! Our individual soldier skills are lacking because training is only focused at the top end, when large exercises are held junior NCO's and soldiers need to be kept active in the mind and body. Is anyone covering lessons Learn'd from Ukraine? Reservists join the Army to do cool things that they would not otherwise be able to do, if there is not a balance between Civil Aid and War Fighting training they will not join. Also if we are too reliant on reserves for firefighting what happens in time of war? Look at Russia, forest fires are out of control.

During WW2 we had a National Emergency Service, which later morphed into Civil Defence before shrinking down to a flood evacuation service. I don't feel that the ADF should be diluted to make up for the decrease in community involvement in bush fire and emergency services. Apart from the range of logistics capabilities and vehicles, the occasions that i have encountered ADF assistance to the civil authority, the assistance has been mainly filling and placing sandbags. However i could be wrong

A national emergency / civil defence force seems to make more sense than spreading ADF thin over natural disasters and war fighting. But maybe the ADF could have a role in providing for the organisation, training and leadership of a national emergency force?

The war in Ukraine and Russia it's making us think more with different types of equipment to use in the Battlefield. Yes we had drones in the air for at least a good 20s maybe in 30 years. But now the drones are lot smaller that can be used in the air online and in the sea. Fair enough both of them are using it Russia and Ukraine. So basically our ways of thinking as military personnel in the Western countries. Had made us to think more to use robots into the field of Battle. Especially that tank that has no Personnel inside it done with robots. That is a game-changer. That is fantastic to hear you guys talk about it. Not just for the military Personnel but also civilians to know more what goes on around the world.

Two years on is Gen Ryan still right? The core bits yes 🌟 but the details have changed. Here's my punt. Landline. Robots really basic. Human/AI teams aren't teams and won't be for a good while. Minefield breaching still hard. NO Nett Warrior (it's a Grad magnet). Morale has not collapsed on either side - it doesn't work like we think it does. Combined arms still key but maybe 20% harder to do than in 1945. Still fighting rural a lot.

We need to change the mindset of our government by having more ex-servicemen in parliament. It will be to little to late by the time the red tape is cut. Otherwise it will be left up to a militia of civilians and veterans after our defense force is wiped out. The government is recruiting the wrong type of people. They should be offering free education after four years service. A increase in reserve units manning with more localized training facilities, ranges, etc. Intergrated defensive plans. Etc etc.

???? Is the ADF ready to fight a near peer war against the likes of Russia, China etc. - No Way. Come a near peer war 50% to 60% of the ADF will resign immediately - why - America collapsed having lost 58,000 in Vietnam over 10 years - against Russia/China etc. you'll lose 60,000 - 100,000 Per Month (Yes, Per Month). Is the ADF for real war - No F..kin way BTW the Commander of 2 Commando is anxious to recruit LGBTQAlphabet-Transvestite-Women to fight on the frontline - F..kin Morons. God Help Us!!!

@@davidmccullough1292 The rank for a SSO is factored by the person's credentials, ability plus their role's required level of inject/influence with Commanders and Staffs. So, sure it's a quick rise (so to speak) but as a PAO it's reasonable - he won't be expected to lead troops on the battlefield or manage careers and welfare.
