hi Ilona, I am Italian and I have a permanent Dutch contract [employment contract]. I will be staying in the Netherlands for more than 4 months. I am moving there in november but until now I haven't been able to find a long-term apartment. I have rented an apartment for 1 month (b&b). Is it possible to obtain the "long term" BSN in this case, or will they refuse it?

Hi 😉 I’ve been there, I know how hard is to find anything for a long term. Check my video how to find a flat here, hope it can help you. You cannot register your long term stay at Airbnb 😞 you’ll need a permission from the owner of the flat to register your long term stay. This is the toughest thing in here - finding a flat.

I've read that a debit card can be used to tap in and out if it is linked to the OV app. I'm 69 so can I have the 65+ discount applied to my journeys? I'm from the UK, if that matters.

Yes, debit card can be used and linked to the OV app. If you want to have a discount it’s necessary to have personal OV chip card not a debit card connected with the app. This information was given at the central station information point. So I believe it’s up to date. I hope I helped you with this answer.

Hi :) Your Italian document, carta di soggiorno illimitato, does not automatically grant you the right to work in the Netherlands unless you hold EU/EEA/Swiss citizenship. Otherwise, you will need to apply for a work permit or other appropriate documents. If you need more precize information depending on your situation you can contact with Dutch Immigration and Naturalisation Service (IND) using this link: ind.nl/en/service-contact/contact-with-ind Good luck :)

Hi 🙂to get your DigiD you’ll need: • citizen service number - BSN - here is my video how to handle this ->kzbin.info/www/bejne/h5fKan5nq8emjdE • registration address with Dutch municipality - make sure that when you'll rent a room/flat/house you'll be able to register yourself • mobile phone to receive a secure sms code to apply and activate your DigiD - if doesn't have to be a Dutch phone number

This information I found on the official public transport website: “Children up to and including 3 years old travel for free on all carriers. Children aged 4 to 11 travel with a 34% age discount if they travel with a personal OV-chipkaart. This discount does not apply to NS. However, children up to the age of 11 can travel for free with the Kids Vrij subscription.
