It's an absolute tragedy that this has happened. But Labour seems hell bent on bringing in even more chicken farms to Wales, rather than protecting our waterways from pollution.

This is definitely the future of Upland farming in the British Isles. I have long advocated for trees and Woods for cattle, but I was told it affects the taste of the milk, but I guess these are beef cattle rather than milk cattle.

We have an agroforestry plantation i the south of Portugal and because of the constant chemtrails robbing us of our rain were looking at moving to Scotland and farming. Do you guys also have this problem withe the chemtrails ?

*I am annoyed!* - many years ago when I found out that cows/cattle are actually a forest animal I asked on the Internet why don't farmers keep cows in woods and little forests and I was told that I was a naive townie and that letting the cows eat wherever they wanted to in the woods would affect the taste of the milk and make it unsellable, now it seems I was right all along. I am bitter, I am angry that I've been misled and lied to.

Stop scaring people. Rotate crops, use manure as an add in to replenish the soil, make sure the aerobic microbes are healthy and keep farming. Good Lord.

We need to reduce animal farming in this country, it's a net negative for ecosystem. I've seen so many of these effects over the last few decades with animal waste killing off wildlife in the River Wye, local waterways always full of run-off from dairy fields full of faeces. Over 80% of the crops in the UK are grown to feed animals - if we reduce the amount of meat we eat then we can save so much land to grow crops that we eat directly - we will get 10x the land space for crops!

Problem with this type of agriculture is that it makes other types more intensive to meet food demands which damages the environment even more but nobody from defra will talk about this or that more food has to be imported and simply passing our carbon footprint onto other countries. That's not going green or environmentally friendly but lying to the public who think the government is oh so goody goody.

Herefordshire is a most distinctive rural county and it is admirable that Ben Andrews plans to introduce herbal leys onto his organic farm. I would very much like to see the area again. I reside North Norfolk.

An acre of grass captures and holds more carbon than an acre of trees, and produces more oxygen while doing so. Sure some trees are nice to have amongst pasture, but don't be fooled - There is also a push to reforest many areas and remove cattle. It is an anti farming motive, not the tree positivity they claim.

The government will not act on this issue because there is too much money to be made. We need to vote in a more sympathetic party and not one full of rich land owners.

It needs urgent Govt action to change legislation and and reduce/remove subsidies for this food system & add a biodiversity tax or similar so so customers pay the true price, one which relfects the damage caused also. Also urgent consumer action to eat significantly less chicken/meat and of a higher quality, this will help those farmers doing it the responsible and nature friendly way. If anyone feels this type of animal welfare and the destruction of the rainforest is also a terrible thing then understanding food systems and changing your eating habits is such an easy win. 30% of global CO emissions are via food systems.
