I once saw someone jump from one planet to another in an SRV without even using a ship. Sadly, I can’t find the video anymore.

I was wondering if that was possible you know.... because I know that there are some planets with a ridiculous speed orbit
@caltheuntitled8021Ай бұрын
@@alexwesley6829 I can’t find the video anymore, but I do remember how he did it. He was on a planet that had a very low gravity, a relatively smooth surface, and co-orbited a very nearby planet of the same size. He started by going at max speed and jumping off a ramp. Once he was in the air, he angled forward and used the SRV thrusters to not only push him up, but also forward. After a few attempts, he managed to get it to the point where he never landed, effectively putting himself into orbit of the planet. Once he had a stable orbit, he used his thrusters in the same way a real life rocket would to accelerate towards the other planet. Once he got above a certain point, the SRV locked up and shut down. The next half an hour or so of the stream was him talking to chat and playing music, including Space Oddity. When he got to the other planet, he ended up phasing through it, but upon a relog, he was safely on its surface and was able to recall his ship and take off. I think this was done in horizons, and you might need to use legacy to do it these days.

As nobody mentioned it here yet; once an SRV crosses the 20km altitude mark it will no longer slow down and keep going at whatever speed it had at said point. I've managed to reach about 480km of altitude that way on one occasion and met up with a friend in orbit, eventually even disembarking and enjoying a spacewalk of the other kind.

Lol, 100% the conda is a great ship to do this with lol...it's even got a nice lil indent that you can sit the SRV Into, then lock the parking brake so that it keeps you on the ship as long as possible without rolling off lol....I've seen people do it with aspX's but you can't get as high with those lol. Don't get me wrong, it took some trial and error to find the right ship to do this with, but once I found it, I realised you could do great things lol..... Alot of people can't believe how I managed to not blow up upon landing lol, which most people do when doing this.....but it's all about hitting the thrusters at EXACTLY the perfect time so that you touch down JUST after they switch off, that way you reduce your momentum as much as possible, but don't regain any of it after.... again, this took a couple of tries to find the sweet spot too lol, but as you can see. I managed it! 🙏

Man, I just rewatched this video fully for the first time in a while, I didn't realise how spot on I was with firing the thrusters to not blow up lol..I mean, I knew I was on point, but I didn't realise how on point....I fired them at JUST the right time to slow down so much, and not regain any more momentum

@LycanLucian4 ай бұрын
@@alexwesley6829 that's not what an orbit is. An orbit is an object that circles around another. When that circle repeats every time it becomes a stable orbit. You just distanced yourself enough from the planet that you surpassed the atmosphere in a straight line. That's also why you fell that fast too. You could technically orbit within the atmosphere, tho you'd need constant power to push against said atmosphere slowing you down and somehow fight the heat of going fast enough to keep an orbit while still in atmos.

Yeah, I don't like that version of the F myself so much....not compared to the refit (the one in STO and that was in Picard)....also, if your asking why the F didn't roll, I think it was because both the top and bottom shields were shot....I think that's why it stuck it's rear end out instead to allow the rear shields to take some of the brunt....I think I just landed a lucky shot though.... because it had half it's hull points remaining... As for the Borg galaxy.....your right on that one....it's a bugger to destroy....I can't remember what ship I used before, but I remember using a different ship in another battle, a ship that is a beast, and it struggled like hell taking it out due to shields....not only that, but it seems to be able to fire torpoedos without ever reloading!!!!! It just "boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom etc etc etc".......they just don't stop... whereas the ship I was using at the time (not this Borg one in the video) had to keep reloading....and by time I'd reloaded, the borgGalaxy had already repaired the damage I'd done.....never ending circle.....well.... until I was able to finish it...I was surprised I was able to tbh.....to be fair, I was surprised it took so long to beat it with the Borg sovereign tbh....I thought it would of been much more powerful..... I'm glad you like this old ship of mine. What I really like is that, unlike most people, you know it's an early 25th century refit concept. Most everyone just assumed it was a 24th century refit. Little known fact, the original Resurrection was actually a kitbash of WickedZombie45's models for Starfleet Command 3. I kitbashed a lot in those days, and a lot of my old ships for SFC3 are still on Gamefront, either under my old gamer handle of F9thDaihak, and under F9thCenturus. The original version of the Resurrection is also available for Bridge Commander, as part of Zambie Zan's Refit Connie pack, along with a few other kitbashes of mine, and all of WZ's Connie models at the time. You can take a look at it and see how the design progressed from the old kitbash to this version you're using now. When I made the leap from kitbashing to making a model from scratch, the Resurrection was the one I really was passionate about, and I took my time trying to get her as right as I possibly could. Truth be told, if it wasn't for some friends from the BC community, I probably wouldn't have been able to finish her.

I love it!!!! I also have the TNG era refit too, though that one isn't as good of course..thought it handled itself well against this. As for your other ships, I'll defo have to go and have a look at them...I'm pretty new to STBC, and gamefront for that matter. I had to learn how to install the mods myself, which luckily turnt out to not be too hard....as for getting the game running on my high end machine, that was a different matter...took me a month of tinkering before I gave up on the remastered mod, and instead installed the kobiashi Maru mod...that I got as an autoinstaller from Retro badger gamers website. I think my favourite game mode is the galaxy charts war simulator, though it's not exactly stable....but it's fun.

The sound is not amazing, it’s disappointing. However, it’s virtually impossible to get good sound out of a panel which is so thin. I have a Bose 500 Soundbar, and the sound from that isn’t up to much. Considering I paid nearly £500 for that, I was disappointed with the Bose. However, it’s streets ahead of the tinny sound from the Sky Glass. I don’t bother with the Sky Glass internal speakers. As for the picture, I’m not that impressed with it, despite making adjustments that have been recommended. The only thing that’s good about Sky Glass is you can buy it for £21 a month, interest free, for the 65in. I’ve been completely underwhelmed by the whole thing.

I agree with you. I've just received the 65inch and it's totally over hyped . The sound is average and so is the picture. And yes the only good thing about it is the fact you can pay monthly for it from sky. The people who are saying it's great, are obviously people who had TVs from the 90s, and aren't used to quality like me and you. It's average at best and that's fact .

@@POLITICAL-BIAS. Hi PB, the actual problem is you only get good sound when the soundtrack is recorded in Dolby Atmos. Same with the picture, if it’s in ultra 4k it significantly improves. I found this out months after having it, partly because I watch very little telly. Find something in UHD and Dolby Atmos and you’ll be better pleased. I say better pleased because very few things are in that format, however, more and more is recorded in it.
