Do ACA plans cover medical expenses while traveling overseas?
@alwaysthinktwice6612
@alwaysthinktwice6612 23 күн бұрын
I’m not sure about ACA plans (which vary state to state) but most private medical insurance plans do not. There is a separate category for “Travel Medical Insurance” which you must purchase before going on a trip. Allianz Travel is a good one but there are others. If your company DOES cover medical expenses overseas, generally you must pay the bill first and file a claim directly to your company yourself to be reimbursed.

I think investors should always put their cash to work, especially In 2025, we'll start to see more market diversification. I'm hoping to invest about $350k of my savings in stocks against next year. Hope to make millions in 2025

Since risk is at an all-time high right now, perhaps you should be a little more patient and return when it has decreased. Alternatively, you can consult a trained financial expert for strategy.

The sweet spot to get the maximum subsidy is about $25,000 to $45,000 or so. If you make LESS than $24,000 then the Obamacare folks will say you don't qualify & should go talk to the Medicaid folks. The problem with Medicaid is that they look at ALL of your assets to qualify which unless you are dirt poor you won't. Obamacare only looks at your income ONLY, you could have a million dollars in the bank & still qualify for a subsidy if your "Income" is not too high. The moral of the story is make your taxable income look at least $24,000 or more if you want a subsidy.

Each household based on age and location has a cap. You can use my link below to figure out your cap. If you are getting a subsidy now and go above that cap, you would then owe the subsidy back when you file your taxes. If below the cap you only pay the difference in the subsidy.

Even though she lives in my house, I don't plan to claim her as a dependent in my taxes. Would she qualify for personal insurance as a zero-income earner for ACA even though she lives under my roof? She takes care of my daughters, but she has no W-2 income.

Definitely not affordable. I do not qualify because of my income. The bronze plans are a joke. Basically, you just pay large amounts of money and have a massive deductible. Out of pocket would be about $20,000 a year. 😂 Question for you. Would it be less expensive if my wife and I get divorced?
@TransitionHealthBenefits

I have been educating clients on healthcare options for over 20 years. While I can't provide personalized financial advice. Health insurance costs can vary significantly depending on individual circumstances, including income, location, and family size. Divorce solely for the purpose of obtaining lower health insurance premiums is not a recommended. I would recommend-Shop Around: Consider comparing different insurance plans both on and off the ACA marketplace. There may be options that better fit your needs and budget. Happy New Year!
