A timeless classic and one of the greatest rock/heartbreak songs ever written. Amazing vocals, guitar, and raw emotion. Love how the key change from minor into major at the end. Mood change shifts from "is this the end?" to "alright it's going to be ok, there's light at the end of the tunnel" ❤ RIP GARY & PHIL

I'm originally from Indy. Roadmaster were our hometown boys back in the late 70's and early 80"s. I love these guys. And the music still stands up after all these years. 😎☮️

Love the solo - half Boston, half Ace Frehley. The only gripe I have with this song is the "waaooowaaoo" thing they did several times. Other than that, it's a fantastic song"

I saw Pure Funk in Cincinnati at Reflections in (maybe?) 1973? They blew me away, and I was lucky to get to know a few of the members. When they got signed, and Roadmaster was born, it was the beginning of the end. I always loved the Adam Smasher/Toby/RS/Doug/Mike version of the band best. When all that was left was Toby, Mike, and a completely new group of personnel, I was put off. But, when I heard this album... and ESPECIALLY THIS SONG...l I was blown away. Hearing it again after all these years has not changed my love of this song. But I wish the very first album was out here on YT as well (the one Rundgren produced). It was my connection to Pure Funk, and those crazy, cool, good ol' daze!

I always liked Paul Di'Anno's "version" of this from 2012 (the one where he called the poor Russian gay for not speaking English): JA YIXYEE WE GOT HUCK OUAWOME OUWAWUH AWOWEH WAMYO HIPPA ASS HEIGO

Heard this for the first time a few hours ago. This is pretty cool. Didn't know what to expect with a singing band covering Slayer, but I like it. Definitely putting its own stamp on it. Thumbs up.

Standing by my window, breathing summer breeze Saw a figure floating, 'neath the willow trees Asked us if we were happy, we said we didn't know Took us by the hands and up we go We followed the dreamer through the purple hazy clouds He could control our sense of time We thought we were lost but no matter how we tried Everyone was in peace of mind We felt the sensations drift inside our frames Finding complete contentment there And all the tensions that hurt us in the past Just seemed to vanish in thin air He said in the cosmos is a single sonic sound That is vibrating constantly And if we could grip and hold on to the note We would see our minds were free, oh they're free We are lost above Floating way up high If you think you can find a way You can surely try

Anyone who hasn't, check out the demo version of this (named the 'alternate' version, it's on KZbin). They were teenagers when they did this, nary a hair on their balls between them. Unbelievable. At that age I'd barely broken away from playing Smells Like Teen Spirit (badly). Imagine writing such a fucking masterpiece at such a young age. They were made of different stuff back then.
