I just discovered your channel, but I want to say that your art is awesome! I tend to have a lot of issues with confidence and experimenting while drawing, but the points you've made are very motivating and inspiring :3

I'm obsessed with the way you do line art. Do you use separate layers when you have to earase the extra lines? If so, how many layers do your peices have
@kittyskeletal4 ай бұрын
When I'm having trouble with a line, I'll usually do it on a seperate layer so I can adjust it before merging it with The Lineart Layer- I probably do this at least twenty times with each piece. :'D For this one, I had different elements of the lines on their own layer- Dallie, her dress, the gemstones, and the microphone all had their own layer so I could add some color to the lines at the end. This isn't a technique I normally use, it just happened to look good here! As for how many layers on average, it depends on what I'm drawing- a regular headshot with no background can be done in eight layers (flat colors, two shading layers, highlight layer, color overlay, texture, lines, and eye highlights), but full pieces with complex rendering or multiple characters regularly need 100+ layers. Thanks for the lovely comment btw! <3

@kittyskeletal np!! Thanks for making speedpaints and for your helpful reply!! I struggle with line art so I occasionally use your techniques for sharp clumps of fur or hair. You're an inspiration

Body and Blood is an adult comic currently in development about an isolated Christian commune, its violent leadership, and the innocents and not-so-innocents caught in the crossfire. Hidden away in the Ozarks, a compound of religious fundamentalists known as The Children of Revelation prepares for the imminent second coming of Christ according to the teachings of the preacher Warren Carmine. But when the young outcast Asher Moriah flees the compound and his sadistic father for the surrounding woods, he learns of unexplained disappearances among Warren’s flock, and resolves to find the missing worshippers and uncover the key to his own freedom. Dallie is one of the main characters- she's the eldest of Warren's many children, and before the church cut contact with the outside world, a gifted performer. Like her mother before her, she's won multiple pageants- although this comes down more to her distinct angelic voice and ability to woo a crowd. One on one, she's strict, bossy, and relentlessly critical, demanding utmost competence from everyone, including herself. Despite her hard exterior, she is fiercely loyal and committed to protecting the few people worthy of her affections.

@krazyonkatnip1253 Nowhere yet! I'm still in the writing and visual development stage, but it's all coming along nicely, and in the meantime, I post concept art pretty regularly on Twitter! 💛

Your art is amazing, but I agree with what you're saying here. No one should think that someone else's art is better than theirs, people should just be themselves. unapologetically unique.

5 TIPS TO BECOME A GREAT ARTIST 1. Stop comparing yourself to "better" artists and start looting them. 2. Don't worry about social media, it was invented to deep fry your brain. Creation for its own sake is the most sustainable way to make art because the motivation comes from within you, and that means nothing and no one can take it away. 3. Your vibe attracts your tribe- the audience for what you want to make is already out there. Make it, and let them come to you. 4. It doesn't need to be perfect, it just needs to be. 5. Hold onto yourself- the most important thing in an artist's toolbox and the key to real confidence is openness, sincerity, and a willingness to be vulnerable with others.
