I appreciate the video, but I'm not certain the best ways to separate the wheels/transaxle from the main body of the mower - the part you did before this video started. I have a JD X300. I saw one video that used an overhead joist in the garage and a strap attached to the back of the mower where you would connect the attachments. But I don't have a place to be able to do that. What would you suggest? Thank you.

I have purchased riders for next to nothing that needed their valves adjusted. The tappets wear and get loose so the exhaust valves don't open for enough, so it won't crank over. Generally, they have a new battery, and sometimes a new battery, but it won't start. I bring it home, adjust the valves, and they run fine.

Pull bottom seal and leave the top one alone, top bearing will run dry without the seal. Hot grease and gravity will make it run dry. You can leave them both if you want. Seal removed on bottom bearing will always stay full.

I have a 08 550i with 140,000 miles. I just had the same issue happen to me, also at a Mcdonalds this morning on my way to work. Lol.. anyways you asked about the gas... mine gives me 26.5MPG ON FREEWAY AND 17.5 around the city. Stop and go. You need to upgrade all your coils with the BLACK UPDATED BOSCH & GET THE NGK IRIDIUM LASER SPARK PLUGS. THEN DROP A CAN OF SEAFOAM INTO GAS TANK AND YOU WILL SEE A BIG DIFFRENCE.

Hi how are you, I have the same mower Scott's S2348 riding mower for 20 years now. I kept it in great condition.. My engine light stays on once I start the engine. I changed the voltage regulator, but the light still stays on? Wondering if it's the stator? What did you do to turn the light off? Thanks!

My 07 has this but only the hi lo are flashing. Dealer can’t figure it out. Wonder if I should try this anyway?

That would kind of be firing the parts cannon since so many things could cause this to happen. Would need more information of what the dealer has already tried or have found out in trying to diagnose

Not true! The grease will go into the new bearings with the seal on it. If you fill the void till it comes out on top and bottom, then pull the bearings again and pull the seal off you will see that the grease in fact goes right by the rubber seal. Seen it done it.

If it's just the housing you don't need to go through the door just take off the mirror unscrew the 5 screws and follow the video.

No Do Not remove the mower deck Do Not remove the spindles On the mower with mower deck installed Remove the pully shields Remove both pulleys Spindle shaft with mower blade attached should drop out of spindle. Spindle top bearing should be removable by hand. If not tap out top spindle bearing from bottom of spindle Remove bearing caps from removed top bearing and the bottom bearing cap from the bottom bearing (leaving bottom bearing in spindle) Clean & re grease both bearings Replace sealed bearing grease caps. Install Spindle shaft Torque pulley to 90 foot lbs. FIN Total cost 50c Total time 30 minutes but you need to buy a Wal-Mart $2 can of bearing grease. Everything can easily be done on mower with mower deck never removed.
