Why do some spartan junipers seem so wide and others much narrower ? I’d love to get the narrower ones
@OutdoorInspirations

I am not sure- I too have experienced this change in lower width over the years as we continue to plant Spartans, today they seem a bit wider in the mid-range than in past

I live in an extreme fire danger area, and anyone also living in such an area should be very careful of what they plant. Juniper's are infamously called "gasoline bush" by firefighters. I believe the magnolia is a better choice for fire danger areas. I'm not sure about the holly.

Can I just replace the light bulbs ?
@OutdoorInspirations
@OutdoorInspirations Ай бұрын
@@sharynlynmorgenstern9594 if you have that type, there are certain fixture models which do use replaceable led lamps which make for easy replacement. Other models make a replaceable light bar that snaps in. But other models like in this video do not have any replaceable components hence needing to replace the entire fixture. Hope that helps

Yes digging a large enough hole can be tedious in hardpan soil. I am going to lower my reservoir down to grade so I can install some rubber liner around the base in order to capture more runoff from fountain- yet another project 😁

I make no apologies for calling them that as it's unnatural to want to disturb the peace in such a way that isn't an actual war! Are these trees bad for the foundation of your house or the plumbing?
@OutdoorInspirations
@OutdoorInspirations Ай бұрын
Absolutely, do not plant close to structures. Lots of top rooting which could cause damage. There are better shade trees to plant closer to homes such as Oaks, which its roots dive down and do not top root.

This wouldn’t be good for use in regions that get cold winters? The frozen water would bust the upper part of the fountain right?

Not with this pottery shape- the top of the fountain is wide and open so there is no resistance when it freezes up, but some people will drain out the water and cover over winter as well

Wouldn't you want to more it low when in drought? I guess mow your lawn low especially on non irrigated lawns. The bigger the plant the more water it needs, mowing it more encourages root lateral growth, growth has to go somewhere. I just moved to NC and wondering why people have their yard at 4".
@OutdoorInspirations
@OutdoorInspirations 3 ай бұрын
Not with cool season tall Fescue the longer blades stores more water, fescue prefers being at 3.5"-4.5" over hot Summer days and Spring and Fall you can get away with 3". Tallness creates shade for a cooler soil line. Your warm season grasses like bermuda certainly like it short, for lateral growth. More and more people here in NC are switching over from fescue to bermuda and zoysia due to better heat tolerance and less watering

why would you use the expansion joint to run your wire? I thought you would use those long drill bits to go under driveways & sidewalks?
@OutdoorInspirations
@OutdoorInspirations 3 ай бұрын
Long bits and sidewalk sleevers are fine options as well- we just had issues of hitting the underside bulges of concrete making it time consuming to find the other side. You can angle grind and zip across an expansion joint in no time
