Unplugging the sunroof is the main issue I’m having issues with. I can’t get leverage to push the plug out to the left. No space pull

Yes it was one of the most difficult steps. I used a small flathead to push in the detent on the plug and then a larger flathead to pry it off towards the left. It took me quite a while to get it on my first try. I recently installed the same cameras on another Mazda and it took me just 2 seconds now that I knew the trick. Put some force into it!

For the IDC connection, can you please explain the crimping process a bit more? Can you simply put the vehicle wire and the EC harness wire into the IDC and then squeeze it with the pliers? How does the vehicle wire get exposed?

Sure, the connector has a semi-sharp "blade" inside that cuts through the insulation and makes contact with the wire within. When you insert both wires into the IDC and crimp, the blade portion will form a bridge between the two wires and create a connection.

I'm not sure but I would be doubtful. The 10.25" screen is a totally different platform and generation than the CX9s. If you had the 7" you could upgrade to the 9" but if you already have the 9"...I can't say.

Thanks for posting. I have had my mirror kit sitting in my garage for about a year once I realized it was more involved than my VW homelink mirror install. Gonna watch this again and do the installation tomorrow.

Don't use the square hole on the side, that is why you ended up with a gap at the end, clip it at the bottom so it comes aside and pull the wire out - maybe, that is where the cover attaches. Other then that big thank you for the guide !!! I'm looking to tap into the mirror for a dashcam, it has everything I need, constant 12v on the red wire (I guess for the garage access memory) and the blue is VCC+ , black is ground - all that's needed for a dashcam with parking mode...

Oh that is a good pointer thanks! By the way I just installed the FitcamX dashcam and routed the wire for the rear cam the same way so that gap got put to use anyway. It taps into the sunroof plug and is super well integrated into the front housing sensor. I am working on that video now in case you are still in the market for a dashcam setup.

Yeah man keep looking, I had been searching for over 2 months and I found a listing for $170; it arrived slightly scratched so I tried returning it and seller just gave me a refund and said keep it 😅 that is what I installed in this video

When ordering the mirror, does it come with everything you need? Or do you have to add the harness and such to the list?

It should come with everything, but make sure it's an authorized part in the original packaging from wherever you buy it just to be safe

Yours is 1.5L ? My 2022 Mazda3 2.0L na have auto dimming, frameless mirror alrdy😊

@@DerickHo No mine is 2.5L. I don't think any trims in the US come with this mirror as standard.
