The problem with women in their 50's and 60's is that they think they are still perfect like they were in their 20"s. Or they have impossible standards. They still want the guy thats 6' 4" rich, fit, and handsome. If you dont believe me look at womens profiles. All the while they are passing up good loving men. A friend of mine is 6' 2 and he is in such high demand he only goes for the hot, sexy ones. Worse, he uses them for sex and money.

I don't think I'm perfect at all. I wasn't perfect in my 20s, either. Only Jesus is perfect. I don't have impossible standards, either. Have been married twice so I'm hardly a loser. The problem is when people don't stay open-minded. They will only date someone who meets 10 different qualifications. That is picky...and why they're alone. But we should never generalize, saying "all women do such and such..."

Debbie Harriman......You're correct. I'm mid 60s and normally date in the mid 30s to mid 40s group. Not that I wouldn't enjoy dating closer to my age and not because of the sex or "arm charm" factor. Taking care of their bodies, more energy, stamina and wanting to do things is the reason. I like to hike, ride a bicycle 100-150 miles/wk, ride a motorcycle around southern Europe, camp and keep active. Finding a 50s-60s year old woman to go along is pretty hard. If I'm going to have to do things alone I'd rather not have a relationship waiting at home. That way if I meet someone I want to date or be friends with I'm able.

It is flawed logic to think that if you are on a pay site, you get better results. The opposite is true! I do not look at them, because the clients are obviously not savvy enough to realize that they have the least members to choose from. Smart people use the free sites, that have huge numbers working for you, and have smart clients who understand the logistics.

Maybe so but at least on the paid sites, people are usually a little more serious about finding a relationship rather than a hook-up. I find that the better and more interesting your profile, the better your chances. On a free site like PlentyofFish, there's very little info on the profile. I have no means to decide if someone is worth contacting. Just a picture and the minimal, bare facts...about which they could be lying. You can read between the lines when they provide more info.

This conversation is ridiculous. Instead of dealing with the realistic issues of online dating she is listing a whole lot of unlikely and far-fetched possibilities.... like (1) If he says he has been married twelve times you must ask yourself is this a red flag, or (2) if he says he only wants a long-term relationship, or (3) if the person owns ten cats. So much helpful advice they could have given and instead they act like their audience are unintelligent. Doh!
