Hi, not sure I understood, is the LGA version socketed? For easier replacement than soldered parts?
@monolithicpowersystemsmps53419 күн бұрын
MPC22163-130 LGA is not socketed. The device needs to be soldered down to achieve the target output current. MPS does not recommend socketing these parts as it eliminates the power density benefit of the device.

Can you share the answer of the question about the possible spike on the ouput voltage when the load current drops to 0A? Also can you share the test setup to simulate and measure the stability?

I do not understand why you bother promoting this chip so much when at the same time you will not allow anyone to look at the datasheet of the chip. It's the first company I have come across where you need to get an account in order to view the datasheet, and upon obtaining an account, you are then told you need a special plus account. What's the big secret?

13:36 the explanation wasn't super clear. What's the advantage to having a lower RDSon for the low-side mosfets as compared to the high-side mosfets?
@monolithicpowersystemsmps5342 ай бұрын
The low side MOSFET in each H-bridge is one for a full half step, as current is flowing in one direction. Also, usually the duty cycle of the other side (which is switching with a PWM waveform) is around 50% or less. So averaged over a long time (like a whole step) the total amount of time that the low side FETs conduct is maybe twice the amount of time that the high side conducts. Making the low side lower rds(on) then generates less heat (again, averaged over time).

Nice video! But still a bit unclear on how this works in application. I am currently designing a charging module for a wearable based on the MP2722, which requires 5V at VSYS. Do I need a separate buck boost converter for this to work?

Great info. I came here by accident. What I’m actually looking for is what happens with the BEMF of the ACTIVE coil upon fall of supplied current? Where or how is the (expectable) reverse voltage handled? You explain very well what happens with the inactive coil when the permanent magnet moves close-by.

This doesnt make any sense. So moving the components away from eachother reduces the thermal transfer between them and allows more of it in to the air for better cooling. If you have the entire boards worth of space though why not just put the components to opposite corners of the pcb if theres all that pcb space?

I do not need this stuff you are talking about, I need balance carrent ? How mouch current is this BMS capable ? 15 - 20 - 25 - 30 - 35 A Active balance current ? How precise is SOC ? After 6 month without synchronisation, what will be real and measured value of SOC ? Measured 72 % SOC and real after voltage chceck 5 % ? Because modern SOC meters have large error at current measuremet and after 6 x 30 x 24 hours of integration, error is so high, that SOC and SOH are only fabulations not real values and all this values you display are fake.

Hi... It was an excellent webinar. In the final efficiency comparison slide (before Q&A), I could see that the part selected has lesser saturation current than Idc. Can you explain how that's possible logically ?? (So far, I've seen inductors with Saturation current greater than rated current)
@monolithicpowersystemsmps5346 ай бұрын
IDC and ISAT are different currents. IDC is related to the self-heating effect caused by the heat dissipation of the inductor windings. Rated current is related to the cooper loss. In case of the MPL-AL series, due the flat wire construction it will have even lower resistance, so the rated current will be higher. ISAT is the change of Inductance value at certain percentage of current (in this case 30% inductance drop). Saturation current is related to the core loss which is depends from the the core material, temperature, frequency, current, pressure.
