I have been listening with the deepest pleasure to this album for nearly fifty years. It is the most beautiful recording of classical vocal music I have ever heard.

Natalie Dessay è qui una Lakme' molto dolce nell'interpretazione del personaggio così come nella voce , che è accompagnata da acuti fantastici e colorature superbe.Molto bravo e squillante il tenore. Peccato per l'immagine sfocata ma per fortuna il suono è abbastanza buono. 👍💔😭

When my students seem to think that vibrato is not used used in MT, I point them to Audra McDonald! Just gorgeous and she is using her own voice - not trying to imitate! Good for Audra. But yes, Margaret Johnson would be perfect casting!

Wonderful! I love the way Price scales down her voice making these lieder so intimate, especially the Schubert, but retains the beauty, emotion and vocal colouring she'd use in an operatic aria. Thank you!

I have been listening to leontyne price for decades and I had no idea that she had this kind of vocal range. I guess I should not be one bit surprised that she was able to hit these notes with such Agility and Laser Focused Power.. This is probably one of the best I've ever heard if not the best I have ever heard...❤

This is one of the major recordings by King's Singers originally released on vinil but unfortunately has never been reissued on CD yet. It was strangely not included in the recent budget BOX reissue of 8 CDs by Warner. It is noteworthy that some songs were accompanied by the late David Munrow and his Early Music Consort of London. What a missing!

I'm a absolute fan of the great Leontyne Price but it is justice to admit that the vocalises, here, are very approximative. She was much better in Leonora (Il trovatore).
