All the post-Cameron Tory prime ministers had to do was fill their cabinets with the right people. There were excellent people on the backbenches who could have done an excellent job, e.g. John Redwood as Chancellor, Bill Cash as Home Secretary. Instead of which, they all selected absolute duds who did a terrible job. Great ideas and manifestos are all very well, but they are worthless without the right people to present them and carry them out. I see nobody, literally nobody, in the Tory Party who fits the bill. So, I'm afraid I don't share the panel's optimism.

I am confused; Dame Andrea urged everyone to back Robert Jenrick, but on GB News's Farage programme 9 days later she said she couldn't support either Jenrick or Badenoch because she said they had betrayed Boris.
