For some reason i think they chose Thanksgiving because it was uniquely American, LIke Rufus's thanksgiving joke about pilgrims starting a ban, and. they argue about it so much that one them calls the. noise "Plymouth Rock:" when in the show they s till always argue on. Thanksgiving, Also the biggest clue Dan was Gossip girl was because GG always takes a break on Thanksgiving. and it is such a big holiday. for the Humphrey's , along with Blaire's pumpkin pie tradition, they wanted. Thanksgiving to be both the. heart and mind of the show
