This horse is not shuffling. He is confused by the cues you are giving him and needs help to learn truly shuffle and maintain it. A shuffle is not a steeping pace- that is a different gait for a different horse. Such a waste of beauty and talent. Here is a true Indian Shuffler: kzbin.info/www/bejne/eKfKn62wpp52iqs

Where is this spot on the lake?

Is this the "Indian shuffle 4 beat gait?"
@lindacole9276 жыл бұрын
He definitely moves laterally and has instances where he looks like he is shuffling, not hard pacing, but it looks like at this time 8 years ago he needs work to actually have him gaiting consistently. I'd like to see a current video of him in 2018 to see how he was finished out!

He's trying to get him to relax a little bit but is not giving the horse enough slow, straight long time to do it. Poor hands and horse is worried. He's banging into the horse's mouth. It probably is a nice horse, but needs straightness and forward time to get relaxed first on a loose rein so he is not so worried and afraid of the banging.

What a wonderful video. Looks like he has real potential. Have admired gaited Appaloosas forever. I hope to see updated video of this fine stallion, and his get.

I would love to have a horse like this. He could be trained 5 gaited. I have had and shown walkers and saddlebreds.

This horse looks like a mess. Seems like he's had very little training, and that pace looks very bumpy.
@lovefromlemac11 жыл бұрын
It's a lateral gait, is it not? 1-2 3-4.

Now that's an appaloosa to have!

This horse is not a good example of the gaited Appaloosas, but they do exist and are as comfortable as a walker or a mountain horse when they are doing the correct gait. The horse in this video is hard pacing, which many gaited horses do when they are too lazy/out of shape/not properly collected enough to do their smooth gaits. Walkaloosas and gaited Appaloosas are two different things.

There is really no comparison to the gaited appaloosa and the tn walking horse. I own a gaited appaloosa stallion and 2 walking horse geldings. Their gaits are entirely different. The walkaloosa is merely a cross between a walking horse and an appaloosa. The appaloosa was gaited when the Spaniards brought them to this country!

Walkaloosa is the breed were looking at. Lol.

No. It is a beautiful Appaloosa that is confused.

Um... How much training is this horse supposed to have had? It seems to me the horse doesn't know what the hell the rider wants...

The trainer knows he's on the wrong lead behind, but doesn't know why. I've ridden horses that do this, and it feels very awkward. Did the horse ever learn a real canter? Sometimes a farrier can correct this.

lol he was a little hoppy there..but nice gait..too bad his canter isnt as good
