One of my fav songs in strings! Wow, thank you for playing it and sharing it. Jose Alfredo Jimenez the great Mexican composer didn't play an instrument. He whistled the tunes as he wrote them.

Gorgeous! There seems to be a repetoire of contemporary and classic tracks that musicians on KZbin feel compelled to perform. If and when I learn cello, it'll be fun finding obscure but lovely pieces to play. That's when the instrument and musicianship really shines through. ✌️

Originally called -- "Davaha Marina" - by the Latvian composer of this song .Raimonds Pauls. He has received the Order of the Rising Sun and Gold Rays with Neck Ribbon. According to the embassy, the awards were bestowed for a contribution to Japan and Latvia's cultural connection via music, as well as understanding between both countries. The embassy said that Raimonds Pauls is a well-known musician in Japan, and his composition Dāvāja Māriņa has been performed by many Japanese singers. When Raimonds Pauls was a deputy of the Saeima, he also participated in Japanese-Latvian parliament collaboration group and contributed to the exchange of cultural experience between the two countries.

A Latvian Love Song, This amazingly popular song was written by two LATVIANS, however, Wikipedia calls it a "ussr song", presumably because Latvia was occupied by the Terrorist state/Ruzzia at the time. The writers of the song were Raimonds Pauls with lyrics by Leons Briedis. It was performed at the 1981 Mikrofona aptauja by Aija Kukule and Līga Kreicberga. In 2011: The song was performed live by Ance Krauze at an event celebrating Raimonds Pauls's 75th birthday. The song has been performed in many languages all over the world.
