You are totally right...sometimes Greebles can both look cool and also have no place in your mind for a build....or at least initially. For me, I really like the lens as I thought they could just be some cool details on a panel build. One of my favorite parts of this series is hearing what other people would do. It truly opens the mind to opportunities to grow. I believe next weeks videos will be easiser to imagine....even though it may not look that way until I start taking it apart.

Your videos are very enjoyable to watch! Thanks for sharing them. I, too, enjoy disassembling things but am at a loss for what to do with all the parts! Of course there are many greeblies hiding within and they hold much potential! But, sadly I am not a builder. Any advice on how to become a builder (or a supplier for the builder community) and not just a hoarder? I don't like seeing all that potential go to waste! Keep up the good work! I always look forward to your next video! Whether it is Assembly or DISassembly!

I really appreciate your kind words Jerry. It is always great finding people who also love taking things apart. Some see it as destructive, but I love it because it can be fun, therapeutic and often it is intriguing to see how things work and are constructed...which in turn helps to discover how to build my own projects. As for being a builder or not, I can understand your feelings. I am the same way. Practice has made my mind be more creative and allowing myself to make mistakes and projects that don't turn out well has allowed me the room so that the more I practice...the better my work becomes. I am positive that your journey will be the same. So how do you start...? I would advice one of two routes (possibly both as I see they both have benefits for the creative mind). The first is, find a prop you want to make and start to make it. Buy as close as the same materials you can and replicate it. Adam Savage says make things in 3's. By the time you finish the third you will be amazed at the learning curve. I tend to lean to woodworking, but if you are looking for something easy to start out...maybe use foam. It takes less tools to get going. Or buy a utility box, some spray paint, automotive pin striping and buy a couple star wars button tiles. Then make a panel front. When you are finished, then step up the next one by adding some led's. Another method could be kitbashing...which only requires glue and trash. Next time you take something apart...select the best greeble(s) and gather a bunch of trash about you (pill bottles, medical caps, paperclips for "pipes" lids, straws, etc) so that you can just add items with glue or hot glue. Don't over think it. If you mess up...at the end of the day it was just trash and you can start again. When you are done...paint it all one color like gray or rust and it will come together. Lastly...yes, greebles storage is always a battle. A persons hobby should never overrun their life...but having a selection of items available helps to make creative builds. I usually keep about 80% of all the thins I have taken apart. However, it has forced me recently to rethink this as it has taken over the space that I originally wanted to build in. So I have had to pare it down. I recommend, keeping small interesting baubles. Maybe buy 1 or 2 organization bins and put the items in it when you like something. If it gets full...trade weaker items for stronger ones. I often offer my discarded greebles ot others. I don't sell anything, but I know people who do. And I try to recycle whenever possible. (instead of landfills) Sorry for the lengthy response...but you brought up such great points that meant a lot to me...so I want to provide a thorough response.

And yes, what the community of Makers create, I DO consider it to be ART!!! There is not enough room here in this post to put into words how much it helps to have found a like-minded person and community! Thank you SO MUCH for your fun videos and helpful comments! Oh wow. I do not factor that in. My first rear projection tv I bought many moons ago was as when I lived in Italy. Not sure where you live but who knows…maybe one is lurking around the next classified ad or vintage sale. I love seeing how things work. So I have always taken things apart. In doing these videos. Hopefully it helps people see what I see without having to do it themselves. Unless they really love what the see and have to have those Greebles for a special build. But there are some things I’ve had for years that I’ve never had the courage to tear apart. Too nostalgic I guess. I hope you find the treasures you are after. Cheers

@@garlandsworkshop i have two rear projection TVs here now, and at least 8 CRT projectors, but i'd easily take more rear projection sets if they were more common in Australia, unfortunately they never were overly common here. Wow. That is super cool that you have so many classics and that you have the skills to fix them and keep them going. I guess I just simply assumed most all countries consume the same proportion of products as we do in the states. A little naive on my part I guess. I remember while living in Italy just before I left…an Italian friend quickly jumped at the opportunity to take my rear protection. But my 35” CRT had to be recycle because no one would take it. And I was giving it all away for free. Italy was super big on the flatscreens about this time. Germany and Portugal were about the same from what I could see. But I admit that still is only a small look at world trends

A mini spy droid with the shell....This droid was designed by the Empire to collect intel and has the capability to cloak it's self into his environment, making it nearly imposible to detect or see. Admittedly, yes, that can be a critical aspect of the job, which can be daunting if you have never done it before. This was my daughter’s first time. She was nervous, but did fine. I think a spotter helps a lot. But saving a few dollars on an Oil change isn’t worth damage to your car. So it may be better to take it to a mechanic. But at least you know going into it, what’s involved and how much it costs.

Supplies: Oil Filter: - Many can be used, but I used the WIX WL10514 from O’Reilly Auto Parts Store Oil: - Use a 0w-16 Full Synthetic Oil. - 5.5 quarts are required, but make sure you check your dipstick to ensure proper fill levels. First clean the dipstick, then recheck. The oil should be visible between the 2 round detents on the end of the dipstick.
