What you appear to have done is amplified the sound with clipping, allowing you to bring the volume higher but causing a coarseness at the higher volumes.

This could almost be the fourth sonata of Brahms. Well crafted and lovely to play. Christian and Palumbo give a great account of it and make the case for this sonata as a recital piece. An excellent posting.

Wonderful rendition! Very greyish, tragic, sad, full of restrained melancholy! My partner and I are rehearsing this little pearl.Your work is going to help us. Two things impressed me very much: tempo variations with more freedom than traditionally expected in the realm of Classicism ( with which I deeply agree) and much more ornaments than those found on my Schott Edition.

This is one of Rota's major works - an important contribution to the genre in the 20th century. Too easily dismissed as a mere film composer to those who have not bothered to dig deeper. Beautiful piece.
