Think people jumped the gun on Angelo vs. GABE! BEEN known Angelo was redshirting, this season Gabe did the redshirt last season, you have Anjelo already saying he loves Iowa! These guys are definitely work out partners, so all you do by wrestling is perhaps A.F. beats Gabe! Then Gabe wrestles the remainder of the year knowing AF is a better wrestler! Plus youre pulling guys from both ends before next season even starts! So in turn Gabe has no problem m.f. to Angelo! Throw AF a bone for being the best partner he could have! Alls well! Brands had absolutely no thought of putting that match on! Was senseless to think that! IMO GREAT MOVE!

Agreed, Gable Stevenson was the best prospect I’ve ever seen in wrestling. But the most anticipated or hyped might have been David Taylor. I know social media wasn’t big then but he had an aura around him already then he had a legendary career! Ps. It was a great question. And Bassit is not selfish at all! He’s literally bringing more eyes to the sport and “old school” guys don’t want the sport to grow.

What Cornell did last year at Collegiate Duals was garbage. They had everyone for the most part wrestle 2 of 3 matches. That’s fine but keep the guys all out vs Pitt or Little Rock who they rocked. They had an awesome dual with Iowa St in the finals set up and they sat Ungar, Vito, Meyer, and Ramirez for it with no warning at all. People paid for the paper view and were pissed. The other 6 guys sat out against Little Rock or Pitt. Great show my fellow western NYer! Sorry for hoarding the comment section. Please tell Willie we are B.E.G. wrestling, the letters…not the word Beg. That would be cheesy as all hell 😂

Cardenas is 8-0 and has had only 1 match go the full 7 minutes…that match was 12-0. He has outscored his opponents 121-6. Even his pin in finals he was up 8-0. Here is the thing….. if you watch his 3rd place match at ncaas last year vs Buchanan, it really wasn’t close. Buchanan controlled the entire match. Watch that match last year and also note that Buchanan looks great this year as well. Cardenas is the only one to ever medal 3x for USA at U23s. Cardenas beat Elam 2/3 times last year. He beat him 7-3 back side ncaas, lost 4-0 front side and beat him 7-0 in dual. Pisses me off IVY rules Cornell only got 3 seasons out of Cardenas and they have to watch him go elsewhere for his senior year meanwhile you got so many guys getting 5 seasons with their team.

@davidyunkunis7217 Oh geez it seems we have some comment deleting Nazis who can't put their fandom aside. So let's try this again. You said that because he lost in the last 3 seconds of his match with the gold medalist, that doesn't mean he's not the best in the world right now. Yeah actually that's exactly what it means. That's exactly what the Olympics mean. They crown the best in the world. That's why it's called a gold medal. To the winner go the spoils, not the loser. So to say that he is the best in the world at 86 kg is to suspend reality. Furthermore..... He has never made a world final at 86 kg. He has never made an Olympic final at 86 kg. He has never taken silver at 86 kg on the world stage or Olympic stage. He only made it to the world stage at that weight one time and he took third. So he has never been the best in the world at 86 kilograms OR The second best. And a real argument can be made that he's not the best 86 kg wrestler in America alone. The singlet pull point awarded to him against Zahid Valencia gave him a victory in a match that he was just about to lose. The referee could have called it inadvertent and accidental because it gave no advantage to zahid and zahid politely pulled away after he did it. But the referee gave Aaron a point anyway even though that's not the spirit of the rule. That gave Aaron a victory that he didn't earn. 🤷 Not surprisingly to me, now that Valencia is in David Taylor's camp at Oklahoma State, Aaron Brooks has all of a sudden moved up. He weighed 215 lb a month ago. He will wrestle 92 kg at worlds and 97 kg for the Olympics. You will never see him at 86 kg again. Which makes it even more disingenuous to say he's the best 86 kg wrestler in the world. I'm a huge Penn State fan. I will be at the journeymen duels in Nashville, where I reside. And I can't stand Zahid Valencia. With a PASSION. But fair is fair and wrong is wrong. Anyway, I'm going to go ahead and copy and paste this so I don't have to waste 5 minutes of my time the next time somebody wants to play immature little child games and delete comments that screw up their narrative that they themselves have absolutely no argument against. I'm very accustomed to that. Me and Pat Mineo have plenty of haters but we embrace it for a reason.

Aaron Brooks is not the best in the world at 86 kg. We saw that at the Olympics. Not to mention it's already known that he's moved up out of 86 kg and will never wrestle 86 kg again....... Otherwise, fantastic interview!
@davidyunkunis721724 күн бұрын
Just because he lost in the last 3 seconds of his match with the Gold medalist doesn't mean he is not the best in the world right now. Except for that last few seconds, he dominated that match. If they wrestle again, my money is on Aaron.
@brax2623 күн бұрын
@davidyunkunis7217 That quite literally is what it means. To the winner goes the spoils. Not the loser. Don't try to rewrite history or reality. Because you look really ridiculous when you try to. Here's an example. You said that he was dominating the match before he lost in the last 3 seconds. Well if he was dominating the match, then he could not have lost in the last 3 seconds of the match. I'm not sure how you equate domination with actual points scored, but apparently you don't care about the points because that's how they decide a winner and loser. It's not based on who the favorite is or who seems to be the guy controlling the match. Did Aaron ever win a World Title at 86 kg? No. Did Aaron ever make a world final or Olympic final at 86 kg? No. He's never even taken silver at 86 kg. So to say that he is the best in the world at 86 kg is just dishonest and it reeks of a fan being emotionally compromised on reality. And that's fine. That's what fans do. I'm just adding balance to the nonsense. Oh! I almost forgot to add that Aaron doesn't even wrestle 86 kg anymore and as of a month ago he weighed 215 lb. He's moved up. He will never compete at 86 kg again. So he will never be able to be called the best in the world at 86 kg and never was able to prove that he was in the past. Oh! And I almost forgot this. The only reason Aaron even got to represent the United States was because he was extremely fortunate to be given a point against zahid Valencia when he was beaten fair and square. Now....I can't stand Valencia. But he got ripped off. The referee has the discretion on whether to say a singlet pull was inadvertent, accidental or purposeful to gain an advantage. Anybody in the world watching that match saw that it was accidental and inadvertent and should have been called that way. Valencia gained no advantage for it and even backed off almost politely. Because it wasn't called right, right at the end of the match Aaron got an extra point that he didn't earn and he won a match that he was just about to lose. So there's a contention that can be made that he's not even the best 86 kg wrestler in America. 🤷 🤷 Those are not my facts. It's not personal. That's just reality from precedent.
