Does anyone know what trannys if any will bolt up to a 6V53T as in GM pick up trannys? Or does anyone know of a company that makes adapters? I also keep hearing people saying NV4500 will bolt up them, not sure if they are using an adapter. I would like to use a 4x4 GM tranny as I don’t want to divorce mount my Tcase

A great little engine! Overhauled one of these as well as general repair. Very tough!! Love the old 2 cycles!!

How was the overhaul? I’m extremely curious on what I’m going to find when I tear mine down? I’ve been picking peoples brains on these engines as I have 0 experience with them, mine is a turbo model and it’s aluminum, military. Oh also how was parts available and price? Thanks.

Detroit Diesels sound good and also EMD Train Engines. Just love the sound from these engines doesn't matter if car, truck or train

Heck back when I was in the Army and my first duty station was Fort Polk and I knew a guy who put a 3 cylinder gamagoat engine in his pick up truck an it was loud 😊

Nothing sounds as good as a Detroit Diesel! I'm guessing it dosn't take too long to find the weak link in the driveline with this set-up.

Bullet-proof engine. U.S. Coast Guard has twin 6V 53 in their 44 foot motor surf boats. The 87 footers have 6V 92's.

Does the air parking brake valve actually work? How did you get air brakes to fit in it if it actually works!?

The parking brake cables are being pulled by two big spring , the is a type 10 booster releasing the presure of the springs . Yes the brake valve actually work. Also its air over hydraulic brakes all around .
