If you open up task manager and look for wall paper engine, it uses very little resources. It's a background task that is put to the background when you're playing games etc. Most computers will not be affected. If it is affecting you it's probably something else not wallpaper engine

This is stupid, the same video played in video player consumes 0% GPU. Playing video in "wall-paper" app consumes 50% GPU. WTF is with this shit ??? EDIT: Playing normal video consumes 0% CPU & 0% GPU Live Wallpapers are scam for electric bills

I used wallpaper engine for years and it never disappointed me and if you want something even more impressive, install TranslucentTB (makes your taskbar invisible for more beautiful looks) and install Rainmeter (clock, player, weather and other stuff) so it looks even better. Still not enough? Alright now this is like actually if you just wanna have something impressive, set all your programs on "start minimized" Get yourself a animated loading screen wallpaper in your style and make yourself a playlist of wallpapers that basically just makes you have a cool loading animation when you start your PC. (and it only plays when you start your PC) With a good playlist of really impressive wallpapers you can improve design of your setup by a lot. So yes in my opinion it's worth it even if you just use it normally but if you love having a impressive setup then it's even better.

So this won’t affect performance on a 1650 if I set it to pause when I’m in games right? I mean consoles have had animated backgrounds for years and ran fine I think it should be alright
