This scene was so badass and brutal. The way Hayama died and everyone joined in to drown him was fantastic
@enterthebruce917 күн бұрын
Looking back on the show, I wonder why Sato never confronted Hayama earlier about Ishida's decision to make Sato Oyabun 'should anything happen to him' (Season 2 episode 5). Maybe Sato felt he never had significant proof to bring to Chihara Kai regarding Ishida's decision to make him his successor and Hayama may have tried to have Sato and/or his family killed? I'm not exactly sure why (eventhough I know that Sato was temporarily banished from Chihara Kai due to Hayama's scheming during an earlier confrontation so I wonder why Sato didn't make the rest of Chihara Kai immediately aware of Ishida's decision to make Sato Oyabun in the event of his death); either way Hayama deserved this beatdown! He could never have led Chihara Kai like Sato could if he had actually become Oyabun, he was far too hot tempered (Hayama was more like Sonny Corleone whereas Sato was closer to Michael Corleone in terms of making calculated power moves as opposed to making rash, spur of the moment decisions). Brilliant show, loved every minute of it! This specific scene reminds me of a scene from the film Eastern Promises (sauna/bathroom brawl).

The ending was absolutely perfect though so I don't think a third season is necessary. I want to see a prequel/sequel series chronicling both Ishida's rise to power within the Chihara Kai in the 70's-80's as well as Sato's struggle to lead the Chihara Kai into a new century with harsher anti Yakuza legislation coming into effect (Vito/Michael Corleone in The Godfather Part II style), that would be the perfect way to expand upon the Tokyo Vice universe without ruining it with an unnecessary third season.

One of the best T.V shows ever! Up there with The Wire and Boardwalk Empire, it's #4 on my all time top ten TV series ever, I'm looking forward to the Yakuza: Like a Dragon six part TV series coming to Amazon Prime in October (haven't played the games but hopefully it brings the heat like Tokyo Vice did)🔥🔥🔥

Just finished season two and I can honestly say that it's one of the greatest shows of all time. After watching season one it immediately entered my top ten of all time and after seeing season two it's entered my all time top five: 1. The Wire/Boardwalk Empire 2. Banshee 3. Rome 4. Tokyo Vice 5. The Night Of The season two finale was the perfect conclusion to the show, it's been cancelled by Max and I hope another network doesn't pick it up for an unnecessary third season; although I'd really like HBO/Max to develop an Ishida/Sato prequel/sequel hybrid series in the style of The Godfather Part II, tracking Ishida's rise to power within the Chihara Kai in the 70's-80's, as well as Sato's struggle to lead the Chihara Kai into a new century with harsher anti Yakuza legislation coming into effect (Vito/Michael Corleone type vibes); that would be epic! Please make it happen HBO/Max ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

@@IreZico I hope a third season isn't picked up, it doesn't need it, and I don't think another network could ever produce as well as HBO/Max can but I'd love to see an Ishida/Sato prequel/sequel hybrid series at some point in order to expand on the Tokyo Vice universe without the need for an unnecessary third season which would only serve to undermine its own legacy after what was the perfect series conclusion. The Penguin is next on my list (out on the 19th of September on HBO and the following day on Sky Atlantic in the UK!) 🔥🔥🔥
