Wow….this is so bland, no drama. There’s no choreography happening until the allegro section, except that VT is en pointe and moving around a lot. Now I’m going to have to watch Sylvie Guillem (and some other Paris Opera ballerinas who are also incredibly dramatic in this part) and Maya Pliesetskia to make me feel better.

Tereskina brilliant

Cold and stiff, not to mention the bulk of her lines were pretty messy. This was not her best night, evidently. Pitty, we all have bad nights. I wish some of her better attempts would be uploaded.

Великолепно.

Lovely, but I prefer Ekaterina Kondaurova's interpretation.

Charming performance, but Sylvie Guillem completely and utterly owns this role.

But it is Russian Ballet. Sylvia Guillem cannot be better in this role! She cannot understand Glazunov’s music like Tereshkina...

Some people say Tereshkina is not lyrical enough or not girl-ish enough. Well, I love her Raymonda. Libretto of Raymonda is so boring and clueless so why we can't change the narrtive? In this modern times where Snow white or Alice gets the sword and fights, I love the heroic heroine who can single handedly save her homeland with her wit and charm.

+Bnesque imo she is an earthy,mature and womanly dancer who brings memories of old time greats. Now valued are more alien-like types like Zakharova or Osipova.Both(Z and O) are different from each other but still have those comic book superpower heroine thing going.Hope you get my joke.

Ivelina Pancheva lol, imo, Osipova is really cartoonish. Zakha looks to me like a cold meat, Vikvia i saw was more matured way of fighting like Caterina Sphorza or Isabella d'Este way. And I love those clever women.

@@Bnesque not to mention Osipova is not long and lean, she is short & stout. That is not her fault but it doesn't work well for Swan Lake nor Raymonda. I consider her sort of the Natalie Dessay of ballet (trying to always be suffering and "acting" the roles and the technical suffers. She also loves to wear dead pointe shoes, which is extremely ugly

@@smurf902 Totally agree. When I fisrt saw Osipova in FoP, I was stunned seeing her vivacity and strength, but thought her an ultimate soubrette. Then she wanted to be a star of star in spite of her physical appearance, started to force lot of things without the reliable coach. I don't know why western audience admire her...

Ohh sorry to say that but after seeing her perform this variation absolutely perfect 2/3 years ago this was disappointing. Mechanical and lacks the attack and little accents I remember. Plus she seems so tired and thinner than usual. Hope this is momentary and she's not getting past her prime.

+ Ivelina Pancheva Such a pity you can't see her Zarema. She gets into her artistic prime now.
@ivelinapancheva36819 жыл бұрын
I only saw her entrance as uploaded. Warm,radiant,loving, nothing like the harsh and edgy Zaremas I've seen before. Only La Maya came to mind with her femininity. Hope someone uploads at least Vika's solos in Bakhfountain.

Ivelina Pancheva Yes, absolutely.When the story develops, her thoughts or emotion is all over the map, one extreme to the other. My another favorite in this role is Anastasia Petushkova, she's a great jumper, so voluptuous with animal magnetism. Vikarema is more sensitive in the beginning and more dynamic in execution as you know.It's devastating that Vika could not have the greatest Ghirei of this era.

+Bnesque KUZNETSOV? This guy is already a legend, even non balletomanes know him!

Ivelina Pancheva Yes, Ilya. He made me a crazy fan of FoB. I loved to hear those huge bravos when he finished his scenes. I cried a lot watching his Ghirei.And non balletmanes love him?
