USB ports are planned to be installed at a later date. These are a massive upgrade to the 7000 series for sure. The 6000 series should remain in service for a little while longer
@JavanHamiltonTV3 күн бұрын
They really *do* need USB ports. If we're stuck on the Silver Line for an over an hour to get to Dulles, the least they could do is give us charging ports. All modern transport should have them.

Love that you got to experience coming to southern CT and flying out of Tweed! Such a small airport. It will cost some big time $$$ to expand it, but most of the neighboring residents are (of course) against it. CT needs more airport options than just BDL.

Loved this video and your descriptions including how close you can get to planespot at HVN, and you were using a good camera to zoom in so close on the runway. Thank you.

Renny! That's a great name for it (The Renaissance). Yes, I'll probably return there next year to fully enjoy it. The entire hotel is amazing, including the food.

Interesting, thank you. I remember that many people thought the gap (eliminating in 1991) was because of racism and that the city and Metro believed those stations would be a loss in revenue. I think some even then argued that the city and Metro was surprised by the business and money made by those stations.
@JavanHamiltonTV16 күн бұрын
I remember reading about that a while back.

Pro tip: If you're taking Amtrak into town from the south, you might want to get off at Alexandria and take either the Blue or Yellow line from there instead of going all the way to Washington Union Station and taking the Red from there. You can save as much as half an hour! (With VRE it is a little different because there stops at Crystal City and L'Enfant Plaza.)

Great HD video. HVN's runway seems short for sustained 737 operations. I used to live & work not far from there years ago and was surprised Avelo choose the airport as a hub for their east coast operations given the short runway and populated area. Loved watching the southerly take off with the view of Long Island sound.
@JavanHamiltonTVАй бұрын
Thank you much. You take off from there like a rocket, and the landing is abrupt as well. As part of the expansion, they will be extending the runway.

Haven't been to JFK in decades. Love the video. Used to drive my dad to JFK because he traveled to Germany a lot for business. Reminds me of watching the planes arrive and depart with the kids from the upstairs observation deck JFK had. Is that where the TWA Hotel is now?
@JavanHamiltonTVАй бұрын
Great to hear! That's really cool, and I'm glad you like the video. Yes, the TWA Hotel is the same building where TWA planes used to park before they went out of business. They added hotel towers on each side of the old concourse hall.

A question for you, Javan: we know that from 1 a.m. to 5 a.m. the Plane Train runs in a reduced service mode, with only two trains both running on one track back and forth. The two trains pass each other in a siding near the Concourse B platforms in this configuration. The remaining trains receive routine maintenance at this time. But what does it mean that the train system stops on Wednesday mornings at 1 a.m. during the off-peak time for maintenance of the track? Isn't possible to use the other track in this time and to have a 24/7 (and not a 24/6...) service? Thank you for the possible reply.
@JavanHamiltonTV2 ай бұрын
That I'm not sure. But it's probably to allow a clean sweep of the system without any moving vehicles. I guess it's similar to how the tracks are checked overnight for the Metro here in DC.

I’m glad I had visited this since I was able to give my feedback on this, mainly so I could suggest having a human read out the automated announcements since they’re typically pre-recorded like they are on the 7000-series
