I don’t know that it matters BUT… in the states there are scrapbook stores all over that host what we call “crops” where a group of people come together to scrapbook and socialize. So that’s the crop part. The dual part is bc you can use the “dial” (turn the tool) to get a different size. Hence crop-dial.

I hope that what you discussed with the doctor helps you out in every winter to come !! I don't remember if I know what country you're in, but I grew up in a place that has cold winters. I eventually grew to love them, although only one other sweet old lady shared my enthusiasm. She must be nearly 90 and still makes snow angels! 🥰 I very much understand how winter can make you sad, and while it's not true of everyone, many, many people struggle with winter. Maybe some of these ways of looking at it will help you focus on cheerful things: *When there aren't leaves on the trees, a positive of that is that it's like looking at the line drawing of the world before the details are painted on. It's kind of like when they x-ray famous masterpieces and find things that the artist painted over and it's exciting because it had previously been a secret. So in some ways, you can imagine that winter is revealing some of those secrets. That helped me have a more positive outlook rather than thinking of the altered view as barrenness. *The birds become beautiful little jewels flying around a blank canvas, and if you have a chance to put up a feeder, you can spend a lot of relaxing time studying the detail of their patterns and colors, not to mention their often-comedic behavior. *I grew up on a farm, and when it got dark so early, it really cut down on what could be accomplished outdoors. So we would put all the animals to bed, and go inside to warm up. We'd all gather in the living room, my dad might lay a crackling fire, and some kind of history or science program would be on tv, but each of us would also be working on our own activities. My mom would certainly be piecing a quilt (extra nice in winter because when it drapes on you, it's added warmth! 😄) or doing counted cross stitch of warm-weather themes. My dad would be doing repetitive tasks like sharpening all of the kitchen knives or stripping insulation off of scrap wire for recycling during the spring. My sister and I might be sketching or painting or wood carving. It was a nice, quiet time to be together while doing creative or productive tasks. So even though we really liked warmer weather where we could work outdoors most of the day and half the night, the winters provided a unique combination of family time and guilt-free crafting. *When it's dark out so much, light becomes a glorious thing. It was always a lovely stargazing time (even from a vehicle, if it was just dangerously cold!) And I used it as an excuse to put up a lot of fairy lights around the house. I kept mine up well past Christmas-until the sun started coming back. Fight that darkness with cute, cozy lights! *And I always thought of it as a time of year where everything was a scavenger hunt for unexpected things. I would keep track of beautiful or odd or noteworthy things I saw each year. We had some Snowy owls visit several times, and a pair of red foxes played a long and rambunctious game of tag across our large frozen pond. The creek flooded, then froze, and so we "skated" (just shuffling with our regular boots) through the silent forest. The Northern lights, a rarity there, became visible a few times. Absolutely gorgeous! I'd encourage you to start your own cold weather treasure chest list or journal of unusual or beautiful things you see or do. It really adds a sense of anticipation to each day and satisfaction when you collect a unique moment to write down. 💖❄️ All the best to you as you prepare for winter. You can do this! 💪☃️❄️
