I was advised that the egg beater kick is nothing but an alternating breast stroke kick, clearly not what’s demonstrated here - any comments?

I have partial cerebral palsy so my left foot has trouble turning my left foot out. How do I turn it out properly? I have to really focus on turning it out to do the kick.
@cdk2968 Жыл бұрын
Not good technique - you have to spread your knees wide to have a stable and efficient position in the water. Also, wearing surfer shorts does not help in showing anatomic detail of complex movement.

My coach never taught me this and I never knew that I was doing the kick wrong the entire time! I appreciate you showing me the correct way. 😊

adult learner here. good video. best part of this one was hearing “feet are scooping the water in”. hardly any instructional videos explain where/how the water is supposed be moving or going to by the swimmers movements. I wish I could find some videos that visualized the water flow via animation or something - I think that could help adults, specifically.

If you already know how to do eggbeater kick, it will be easy if you practice treading in water?

Great job Zac! (Sorry if I misspelled your name) I have a question what about the drill called double arm backstroke? Is it helpful for learning how to catch the water and pull your arm through it ?

Zack is very efficient and skilled. .He’s hardly trying. Even in the flutter kick he is still barely breathing. I would’ve been panting at that point.

I am so happy I found this. I swam 1300 yards today using this technique and had only practiced for about 5 minutes. I was consistantly making 1/3 of the way across a 25 yard pool using this. You two are great, Thanks

I kept having problems with the kick, people told me all my life that the frog thingy is correct, while I always end up doing the asymmetrical (the first one).. Thanks for showing both! I'll apply it next time and start stretching :)
