You often show small farmers that diversify to make ends meet. Here in Aust we (a larger farm) use partners who fill each of our ventures rather than stretch our time thin trying to cover all those bases, while we concentrate on doing beef and grain which we do extremely well. Would you find a larger farm who work with partners to do those diversified items. Items like; Eggs, Chickens, Mushrooms, a Market Garden, Truffles, Timber, etc, etc. That strategy works well as it leaves them to concentrate on doing one job well while sharing the land, costs and profits with us. I've heard of farms doing it that way in America, that's where I stole the idea from. Please try to cover it.

Of course grain markets are going to sink. The American people elected an anti trade president who, last time in office cost farmers $12BN in soybean exports. From 40% of China’s imports to 18% of China’s imports lost to Brazil. This time it’ll be worse. But fear not the US taxpayers will foot the bill, bailing out farmers once again.

Although my area of western Oregon is not in drought technically, the soil moisture below the surface is not at normal levels. Our neighbor next door who raises Longhorns is having his crew put up new fencing. The ground levels of moisture is so lacking that when they auger the holes for posts, the ground from below at a level 3' below the surface is dry as a bone! They tried pounding in the posts with a fence post driver that is hydraulic driven but ground is so dry beneath they had to auger each post hole instead. This level of subsurface moisture is not normal for this area.

Market highs can sometimes be followed by corrections, but predicting the timing and extent of it is challenging. I've heard some analysts talk about a 'massive' correction. It makes me wonder if it's time to adjust my $2M portfolios or maybe even consider some defensive investments.

Great price's are going up even more. Producer's should get more, processors, not so much & consumer's should be hit the hardest. 4-6$ per gallon for processed milk is ridiculous, $6+/for raw/organic is understandable.

You said Thune comes from a Farm State, but so does everyone because there isnt one US state that doesnt have farms. When Thune says Common Sense leadership what does he mean, because common Sense is subjective and based on a persons individual perceptions. Its does not mean one persons definition of "Common Sense" is universal accepted or even common at all.
