Imagine how the manatee feels about this, probably the first manatee to be afraid.

I disliked the video for 2 things. 1: tethered tail apparatuses don’t seem practical. 2: The manatee squeaked at me to hit the 👎 button. Maybe you should watch your own videos and reflect

To ensure the success of manatees released after rehabilitation, the Manatee Rescue & Rehabilitation Partnership monitors released manatees through satellite tracking and visual observations. You can learn more here: www.manateerescue.org/

FWC uses a variety of methods to sample freshwater fish communities, depending on the target species, sampling location and habitat. Electrofishing is a widely used sampling method that stuns fish for a short period of time. This technique allows researchers to handle specimens for data collection and return them safely to the water. Researchers are collecting long-term mark-recapture data at six sites to determine population estimates and survivorship, which will allow them to detect population trends.

Storm surge pushed water onto the golf course allowing the manatees to access the pond. When the water receded, the manatees were trapped in the pond.

You would think they’d come up with a less dangerous idea. I can see the carnage these would cause if someone jumped in for a swim and landed on one.

These fish attractors are typically for your entry level fishermen who will come and suspend a bobber over them, not cast sinking lures at them. Their locations are also shared so that you can avoid them if you'd like. Structures such as these aid in the recruitment of young sportfish to the lake's population, giving them valuable escape cover and feeding areas where the rest of the lake bed may be essentially a "desert". Anyone complaining about these should reassess their knowledge of how fisheries are made sustainable for public use.

Now, you can't fish in that area.
