Hello, man! Would you mind answering a little question for me? I'm watching strikes eight and eleven. I found them very similar to each other. What are the basic differences between strokes eight and eleven? Thank you in advance! 😃

Dude, are you serious??? Do you really think a person will last that long fighting back if you hit him that many times with a karambit??? I was in the Army and I had a small foldable knife on me at all times when I deployed to Afghanistan. Believe me when I say that it will not even make it to the second stab before your enemy drops what he has and tries to run away in pain! You dont even have to cut off their fingers or muscle tissue, you just have to cause them a quick severe pain so that they can understand that it can easily happen again! The human brain will never allow the body to continuously place itself in that much pain again, so it will cause the body to run away or do anything to escape. So all the other ninja strikes you were throwing in the air are completely USELESS against a person, which are what these knives are meant for! There might be a rare chance that you might need to throw 1 or 2 more depending on how much damage they are causing, but it will definitely not take 30 more strikes like you showed in your video. We are trying to disable a person here, not turn them into a stew for your upcoming dinner! I say this becuase I had to do that against 4 people thus far, and unless this reaction was unique to middle eastern Muslims, then I am preatty sure everyone else will react like they did after a single stab or slice!

I was going to say, I appreciate the methods. The finger ring not being utilised in the technique. No spinning or messing around. This is business and improving that grip strength on the handle, without relying on the ring. Good idea to practice. And with the cuts he always seems to bring it back to his zone, in tight or out of reach of who ever. Move, 1, move, back up on a 4/5. Move. Get out of dodge. Liking this channel. It seems reasonable to not use the ring while using the tool, in a situation, aside from drawing it. After creating space. I guess, the argument could be made. No matter how good you are. Everyone is a gangster until a real gangster shows up. And you may be disarmed. Or. You may need to get the weapon away from the altercation, but, it’s wrapped around a broken finger, and not easily ditchable when, the tables may have turned and you’re gonna get a beating, and it’s best no one has the knife. Especially the guy sat on top of you. Better it be held in a manner in which you could throw it out of reach while you used your hands, then got it afterwards. ✌️ stay dangerous.

I think I am getting this fundamentally. Creating space, find space, make space (foot work to move out the way into space, using the empty hand to create space, finding the space they haven’t got covered) Then filling it with violence.

1 - cut downward temple to knee diagonal across body. 2 - trap/hook downward across the body opposite /side. 3 - cut upward knee to temple across body (tight ish to your centreline) 4 - cut opposite side upward knee to temple (tight ish to centreline) 5 - thrust/cut low to high centre line upward 6 - cut palm down horizontal right to Left 7 - cut palm up horizontal Left to Right. 8 - downward trap/hook 9 - cut upward wide diagonal right to left 10 - cut upward wide diagonal left to right 11 - trap downward empty hand side. 12 - cut... Conscious of the empty hand while making cut/trapping. Where is it? Where does it want to be in relation to the cut/trapping and the rotation of your hips and body? The guy attacking you? Have you got a hold of something? Should you? Is it chambered for a tiger claw/jab/strike/grab/block/parry... We will get the hang of this one day. Thanks for the video. Looking more fluid than I 👊

Great questions! Yes, what we call the 10th hand in my system is doing what you mentioned. A lot has to do with "tendon termination," so the counterattack is based upon what is truly happening. This is a free flow drill so that it prepares for any attack that invades your center line.

@@evadetheblade55 brutal... but that’s the nature of it. Once the tendons are F-ed, that arm or what ever is going to be useless. I notice you are always bringing that blade hand back toward your body. Leaving it out and over extended provides the opposition an opportunity to disarm you. Thanks for sharing and breaking this down with me. 👊

@@evadetheblade55 I am a little uneducated sorry, but which system/s work well with such a blade? Is it just Kali martial arts that works well with it? Would any other fighting styles work well with this, that are worth exploring? Or elements of other styles that you could or would employ? Or would you say Kali martial arts are the one? Just thinking about JKD and taking elements from column A and a little from column B, that you could/would or may incorporate for the best result possible? Something like aspects of ninjitsu, jujitsu, are aspects of boxing going to help? I mean where do your strengths, or what’s your back ground that’s helped you in using this interesting and evil looking talon shaped recurve blade? Worth knowing some sweep kicks something like aspects from MauiThai? Or a system unto itself that just needs a to be studied? Haha sorry for all the questions. In your own time if you wish to enlighten me. Thanks 🙏 wishing you well and that you will never have the need to use your tool and skills on another ✌️

I mean, I feel like not using the ring is super wasteful. If your grip strength is good enough, it's not easy to get disarmed regardless. And utilizing the curvature of the blade and the ring as well can easily mess up someone who tries to disarm you. The karambit is a blade that's hard to get away from the user. Kind of by design. And you miss out on the most iconic strike the karambit has to offer. Making use of the ring to flick the blade forward and extend your reach is something that only the karambit can do so well. The blade becomes less agile without use of the ring too. I mean, I'd definitely never try to take you in a fight lmao. But from what I've learned and experienced in my walk with this blade, making full use of the knife offers so many more options in the way of control and sometimes even limiting the amount of damage necessary to end a fight. While you definitely seem to have the use of the curved blade down pat, I'd say you're kind of limiting yourself by fear of being disarmed. In all honesty, if you do find yourself in that position, you're likely to have enough time to pop your index finger out of the ring. But karambits, because of the curvature, are actually able to prevent a large number of disarming techniques, sometimes utilizing the ring to do so. I feel as though I'm less experienced than you in both kali and silat, however, without the ring, the karambit feels kind of just like any other knife. But with it, it becomes so much more.

It's way more difficult to disarm with the finger in the retention ring, especially while you're handrolling (trapping) and slashing/stabbing their hands then immediately their face/throat. If someone is trying to disarm, I'd rather risk my finger getting broken, in order to better keep the weapon they could kill me with, away from them. Life>broken finger....that's why the ring is there
