The Thalys trains don't go to London as they are not allowed through the tunnel. Only trains that are of one complete length are.

Dag Patrick, uiteraard kunnen niet alle treinen 200 km/h, maar deze lijn (36N) is wel uitgerust voor deze snelheid. Dus de M7 en TGV inderdaad wel, maar ook de ICE en HLE 18 mogen 200 km/h op deze lijn. De treinen van en naar Oostende en Eupen en Kortrijk en Welkenraedt zijn ook uitgerust met rijtuigen van 200 km/h.

An excellent film of the varied traffic - locos, mu and freight - on the SNCB network. The dual cameras mean we caught the best of the action - approaching and passing! Interesting to hear the station announcement for the stopping service (in Flemish?) - a lot of local stations in Bruxelles! What a shame the otherwise clean and smart passenger stock was marred by so much graffitti. Belgium, France and Italy seem to suffer more than others from this mindless crime. Are the railway locos and stock not in secure depots or sifings at night? A great film, thanks for editing and sharing - much appreciated.

Thanks for this very kind comment 😊. Belgium indeed has a big graffiti problem. The large depots and sidings are pretty well secured at night, but there are plenty of smaller depots and sidings across the country that are much easier to access. Also good hearing from you, the station announcements are indeed in Flemish, and fun fact: the Brussels capital region alone has 35 stations in total 😅

Great video. 😊 NMBS does have nice trains. Only the grey is a bit dull. A bit more yellow red and blue maybe.

Thanks a lot! The white/grey does look modern, but a bit of color indeed wouldn't hurt, such as the old green and red trains the NMBS used to have, which were more charming 😊. Do you have a favorite train from the NMBS?

Hallo, sehr schönes Video 🙂 Ist auf der HSL Zuid wieder 300km/h erlaubt? Auf dieser gilt eine Geschwindigkeitsbegrenzung von 80km/h wegen Brückenschäden.... Als ich vor einigen Monaten in Rotterdam war, ist kein einziger Zug über die HSL Zuid gefahren.....Gruss Ingo

Zunächst einmal, Ingo, danke für deinen Kommentar; sehr geschätzt 🙂. Zweitens, diese Geschwindigkeitsreduzierungen sind weiterhin anwendbar und werden leider frühestens bis 2026 behoben sein.

@@TrainTramMetroChannel Vielen Dank für Deine Antwort. Habe auch noch mal darüber recherchiert, bis Ende 2025 gilt noch diese Beschränkung. Wenn man bedenkt, das die Strecke erst 2009 eröffnet worden ist, ist das schon sehr beschämend, das nach Milliarden € Baukosten wahrscheinlich mehrere 100 Millionen für die Reparatur anstehen. Da hat wohl jemand von der Bauaufsicht gepennt und man sollte sich die Kosten von der Baufirma zurückholen.....

Ah ok, Ende 2025, aber ich wäre nicht überrascht, wenn es bis 2026 dauert . Irgendetwas ist bei der Konstruktion dieser Linie tatsächlich schiefgelaufen. Eisenbahnen sind nicht dafür gemacht, nur 20 Jahre zu halten.

Straks komt er nog een trein bij........naast de ICNG in de flow kleuren naar Brussel die NS gaat rijden gaat de NMBS zelf ook een langzame trein laten rijden van en naar Rotterdam, hierbij gaan een aantal traxx locs uitgevoerd worden in de NMBS kleuren met een groot logo en Belgische rijtuigen vanaf december gaat dit gebeuren !😊

As an English person living in France I'll never stop being impressed by European rail infrastructure and high speed capabilities. Considering the UK was one of the pioneers of rail travel we've been left in the dark ages compared to what's on offer in Europe. As much as I have a soft spot for the Class 43 and 91 HST's they're not a patch on something like a TGV !

I mainly use geOps, which is a train tracking website that bases train locations on time schedules. The downside is that when a train is running late, the location is not correct, so I use the SNCB app to look if trains are running on time. Unfortunately, I haven't found a better alternative for tracking train locations in Belgium.

@@AustraliaWorldwide what are you on about? I never said that there are places where graffiti doesn't exist, but i never saw this many. In my city maybe one in 50 passenger trains has graffiti on it.

What's the smartphone that you are using to record? It looks like it has 5x optical zoom, 3x, and 1x as well as a wide-angle camera, which would indicate that it's not an apple product ;)

It's indeed not an Apple product ;), I use the Samsung S23 Ultra, which has a wide-angle, 1x, 3x, and 10x optical zoom lens.

The SNCB app still uses the old red color the M5 coaches used to have. In 2009, they were modernized with new interiors and the current SNCB colors.

These trains all use the same safety/signaling system called ETCS.

For the safety system (ETCS), all trains are just seen as trains. Trains are scheduled so that there are no problems for the services that these trains run.
