a fantastic water dragon.. altho i'm not sure they actually existed ;) .. how do you know when its 100% bone dry and ready for firing?.. just time and experience?.. is it amphibius?.. does it love gold and treasure and breathe fire?.. thanks for the video :)
@reidasage5 сағат бұрын
Awe thank you, It was super fun to create! I usually keep sculptures loosely wrapped up under plastic for a week and then let them dry out in the open air for at least 2-3 weeks. I was imagining to have some amphibian qualities! 🐉😁 t

@@reidasage thanks.. thats my downfall.. i stick mine in the oven for 2 hours after a week of drying, and then bisque fire.. hairline cracks.. i need to learn patience.. there.. i've admitted it.. i feel cleansed now

Hi Reida, thank you for this video! I am just starting my pottery journey - it’s something I’ve wanted to do since childhood but just never seemed to have the time. I’ve always been a hobby artist trying all sorts of mediums but with clay I feel like I’ve finally found my calling, and my husband is huge enabler, which I guess is a good thing lol. I also have a super supportive friend that has already commissioned two pieces from me to give as gifts…..I feel like the next step will be to try a local show but I’m really nervous about it. This video helps a lot! You are one of the first clay artists I subscribed to on KZbin; I absolutely love your work - the dragons, the octopus, phenomenal! More videos please!

Thank you so much for the feedback! It really helps motivate me to make more videos. Congratulations on your commissions, that’s really exciting! It is intimidating to do your first show but once you get out there it will be very rewarding.

Are your sculptures more or less leather hard when you start sculpting? I think I may be trying with the clay too wet
@reidasage9 күн бұрын
When I begin sculpting them they are not, I attach them to the ceramic vessel once they are close to leather hard. I want the clay to still be workable when attached so I can make adjustments.
