without a doubt. any form of tagging hurts, but hot brands are by far the most egregious. but they’re the cheapest and most reliable way of identification, so. do with that what you will.

My Uncle had a huge ranch near there. It was (and is) the "Circle 7" in Bronco NM. He had an airstrip and was always flying to Lubbock or El Paso. He also used to fly us down to Austin for UT football games. He was totally into science fiction and science of any kind. He also occasionally preached at a local Methodist church. His name was Robert Field but every called him Bobby. He dropped dead from a heart attack in 1982. The house he built (just north of Bronco) has been featured in many publications. Every time I see it I see the places I played in as a kid.

Well yes and no we use ear tags but they come off easy so we brand them so if we can’t find a calf or cow we know the brand and we can get it back

I mean you know what it's been done like that for centuries. Of course there's better ways to do it, but as someone who's currently eating steak and watching this video, those farmers and ranchers are providing us with an absolute blessing. And I don't think anyone really loves a cow as much as good honest rancher does 💯.
