I lived around these a lifetime ago and I regret not paying them enough attention when I had such easy access to them. I even installed the GSM equipment in the base station cabin on Mt Noorat and that view was breath-taking.

The whole east coast has many old volcanic areas, on the farm at Bundella, I use to find pieces of volcanic molten rocks, some petrified wood too.

I was born not far from there in Casterton, just over the SA border there are more like it, Mount Gambier is actually built inside a volcano crater
@markatmelbournefpvАй бұрын
It a magic area i have yet to film around Mount Gambier but its on my list. Thank you for your comment.
@Davofromdownunder65Ай бұрын
There is also Mount Schank in SA, it’s much smaller than Mt Gambier. I’ve gone past Mount Elephant a few times and around that area there used to be Neolithic stone circles etc, but the early settlers destroyed them
@Stormyday-zg7izАй бұрын
Nice footage, spectacular view's of these craters, we just visited Tower Hill and Warnambool, stopped at Camperdown, went up to Mt leura but didn't see the others, went past Mt elephant but road was closed.
@markatmelbournefpvАй бұрын
With Mount Elephant, it's only open on a Sunday it's worth the walk up the hill and some magnificent views from the top. And by the way, thank you for your comment

Do you need "permission " to walk on these beauties ? Thank you
@markatmelbournefpv18 күн бұрын
They are all on private property, but in saying that there are walking paths on most, but some are a distance away, so they can only admire with a drone from the air 😊

I went to Stevenson's Falls and didn't fly as I had flashbacks of losing a drone once before on a waterfall. And the black spur was so damn busy with traffic but will revisit those locations and by the way Thank you 😊

I realise that the prospect of yet another big bang is a quite enthralling one - unfortunately, I live on the slopes of Tower Hill in Koroit and it would rather disturb our peace and quiet without mentioing the discomfort suffered by the birds and extensive Fauna who would be rendered homeless.

I hope it doesn't happen in our lifetime, but I would have say it would be a magnificent sight

I don't think it's as widely known as it should be that most of Victoria and into the eastern side of South Australia is the third largest volcanic province in the world. The gold miners were very often digging down through lava flows to get underneath to the ancient river beds containing gold concentrated in the ancient water courses. There's also much more gold buried deep in the ancient rivers underneath volcanics remaining where it was uneconomical to get to it than was ever recovered.
