I was there that night!! First time I ever saw the Cathedrals and the only time I had the opportunity to see this particular lineup, which I still believe is the best they ever had! I’m so thankful this was posted. Hope maybe more from that concert can be posted, or at least some direction on where I can find what’s already been posted. Thanks!!

My father brought the Cathedrals to our small town in NYS to share their wonderful southern gospel music back around the early 1980s.

If you listen closely, George’s final “walk” down to the low note at the end.. There’s a faint SECOND voice in the background. Almost like they pre recorded that low note and walk down (just that final part) incase George couldn’t hit it. So he could lip sync that final note. But he ended up singing it anyways. So you’ve got the dual notes. And dual walks. So they don’t line up perfectly. And you can hear it. Doesn’t take away at all! Just a cool tidbit.

I dearly love the singing of the Cathedrals! However, the lyrics in the song "He's Still Working On Me" says it took God a week to create the earth when it took the Lord only SIX days and He rested on the SEVENTH day because He was done!😊❤

Such a great old record. I wore this out as a young kid. Nobody could do it like George. Heaven is full of great singers and ai k ow George is shouting “well glory!”

Yes, I agree, the Cathedrals were the BEST in my opinion, too, @donniewhitley5834! Glen Payne had such a warm, mellow singing voice I loved, but it was George Younce whose deep-down base voice that lifted me up!
