The story behind this recording is that Tom had it all recorded, then we he came back to listen to it, his producer had added the backing singers and strings. Tom hated the additions and the song was scrapped from the album. However this song is quite important because it’s the first time strings were used on any of his tracks, and although he hated it this time, they grew on him, and eventually landed us with songs like Tom Trauberts Blues, so quite an important moment for him and us

HA HA HA HA! Guys like this on the radio must think us people have low intelligence as they spew verbal dysentery down on us like some kind of giant anus in the sky! Bypass Shandoooon! I also hate the way they put on American accents in adverts for Dwyers, Flor Griffin, and they say Gork's 96fm, one of the worst channels I've ever heard. Total rubbish.

I confess, even though I have most of his early songs on vinyl and cd, I'm more into the stuff he did starting with "heartattack and vine", but THIS version is different but superior!

why does some of this sound like eminem?
@floydian0613 жыл бұрын
For those wondering, this version only exists as a 45 RPM single released around the time of "Heart Of Saturday Night", and on various bootleg compilations. There is a more common version on The Early Years, Vol 2. Which is a shame - this version is the superior one.

@podlasca It's Tom he never sings a song the same way twice. If must have heard a recorded version from one of the releases. I'm sure you can find that version online though it may entail a small search. Good luck
