A soldier's soldier right there. Thompson and his crew should have all gotten the Medal of Honor because what they did was exactly what the medal was created for when they stated it was for those that "shall most distinguish themselves by their gallantry". There is no higher form of gallantry that what they did. Sadly, he was denied medals and denied promotions.

at 2:12 a photo is shown of a woman, it's cropped pretty poorly but in this photo her son is rebuttoning her blouse for her after an American GI had raped her, everyone in the photo was killed after it was taken, it was quite a lot of people in the photo and a few small children. may their souls rest in peace.

I guess Mrs. Nang is the survivor he talked about in an interview later. As shown she approached him. She asked him why the others didn't come back "so they could forgive them". If this happened to me, I'm not sure if I was strong enough to forgive. I read the book Four Hours in My Lai. The part about the massacre is by far the worst thing I have ever read.
