The comments hint that this is a slow process......it has been slower; a lot slower. At one time there was no slipway. The then lifeboat had to be pulled, by many willing hands, along the Wharf to the far slipway. If the tide was out, this pulling continued to the shore line and into the sea....nobody bothered about getting wet, sometimes in gale force winds. it could take over half an hour from rocket to launch.

Very cool but just looks incredibly slow if someone is in imminent trouble. I would think having the boat on the dock tied up would save precious minutes.

Damn it, we support the criminal in Moscow. Putin can only be defeated if we implement an immediate energy-saving lockdown. No more private trips. Heating only at night and only one room with light and electricity, you can simply set that at the fuse box....Cities could, for example, switch off every second street light and companies could switch off their neon signs. We can initially limit driving to pure business trips and hospital trips, etc...!!! Stop driving now for peace and freedom!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The topic seems to me too serious for hearty irony. It also has hardly anything to do with my video clip. Your comment only shows the apparently hopeless situation in which the doing and not doing of our politicians and Putin's war of aggression have brought us: to the edge of our existence

This is a very safe and effective launch and recovery process where the topography does not allow for a slipway. Remember that you are launching a ten ton(?) boat worth around three million pounds - it is not easy - it is only possible with excellent equipment and highly trained personnel, all of whom are volunteers. Bravo to the RNLI 😃👌👏👏👏👏

Says someone that knows zero about time ans distance to scene. Do you realize how far the USCG responds to calls. Some take hours to arrive on scene. So have a glass of STFU and carry on.

Im guessing you know nothing about rnli procedures they cant just jump in the boat and throttle upto full power and hope they are going in right direction 1 when they arrive at boat house they have to get changed into the protective gear 2 once aboard they need to power up the vessel and ensure everything is at operating standard 3 the navigator and coxswain need to plot and set the coarse 4 get the antenna's up and locked in while the boat is being wheeled to the water 5 they have to get into enough depth of water and release the retaining chains and wait for the trailer to clear from under it before throttling up or they would damage the hull and trailer 6 depending upon which station it is eg next to a beach where people could be on surf boards or swimming they cant just hurtle off till they have cleared such a point where there is no risk of hitting something or some one or they are in a harbour they have to keep slow or if they went full speed in a harbour they would cause damage to moored boats and put lives at risk which would be caused by the wake one other thing as well the tractors only go at a slow speed due to the weight and the risk of accidents (they are not race cars designed to go fast round a track)

Some boat launches in the U.K. go straight down a slipway track into the water.....recovery is made with a power winch. I’m sure in a marine rescue minutes count.

Yes, but in some locations building a slipway launched system is impossible, hence this system which is still very effective.
