George Burns was a Lyric genius. All those songs he sang at the piano were great!

Amazingly nimble body at age 93 and all because he exercised every morning. Also, George kept himself on a really healthy diet!

I was lucky enough to see him perform in person. What a night. No notes, no teleprompter, he sang and spoke and reminisced for over 2 hours. And we gave him 3 standing ovations. The Best.

A fantastic performer, sadly all but forgotten today. I have searched for 20 years for the unedited masters of her LPs or st least some moving footage of her. So far I’ve been unsuccessful, but I keep looking!

Thanx so very much for sharing this little treasure! I haven't seen it since first-run. I know I saw it, because I had a mad crush on Jimmy Durante, and I never missed his show. I used to sneak out of bed and hid behind the couch so I could 'my Jimmy'. I wasn't fooling anybody, Mama and Daddy knew I was there, and changed my bedtime so I wouldn't miss the show. I even told everybody that I wanted to be a 'Durante Girl' (his chorus of ladies on the show) when I grew up. I miss those days. I miss those people. Thanx for the wonderful nostalgia trip! RIP, Mama, Daddy, and Jimmy, and thanx so very very very much for the magic, music, and memories.

He really smoked all those years & still lived to be 100! That’s amazing. Just goes to show that lung cancer doesn’t only hit smokers. My grandmother never smoked a day in her life & she died in 2006 at the age of 76. Also a LOT of celebs died of lung cancer & they never smoked! Take Bea Arthur for example! She NEVER smoked & unfortunately died of lung cancer 😞She was the best actress on Broadway & in Hollywood & an amazing activist. George is amazing in everything he does, too ♥️ He also still had a joke in everything he did😂 “I’m 93 & the bricks fell apart” also “Wanna see me walk fast? Speed up the camera” 😂

I'd bet Frawley and his wife Edna Louise Bloedt performed this number in their act, "Frawley and Louise." From Wikipedia: Their act was described as "light comedy, with singing, dancing, and patter." The couple separated in 1921 (later divorcing in 1927). They had no children.

I really don’t understand for the life of me how no adults introduced me to George Burns growing up. I’m 34 and just now discovering him. Evangelicals ruin all the fun and laughs ugh. George reminds me so much of my grandpa, loved cigars and Marlboro lights, told stories all day with jokes and went through quite a lot in the 20th century. Now all we get is shit wages Facebook vaccines and depression. Sheesh

Makes me happy to hear that you’ve finally discovered George :) I got into him at age 12 in 1994 thanks to my English teacher Ms. Craig. I remember when he died, and all the movies I saw of his and studied his career thereafter. I highly recommend all of his books, they’re fantastic and a real piece of show business history.

I find as I am coming to middle age my tastes have changed. I have completely quit watching news, and facebook. I am constantly looking for gems like this on youtube, old commercials from 70's and 80's when I was a kid, old tv hows and movies. I am watching Tcm to watch classics I never took the time to see. I even watch Johnny Carson reruns every night on antenna Tv since I refuse to watch any current talk shows since Oprah and Letterman went off the air. I yearn to be in a different time I caught the tail end of than whats become today and I find that by doing this, I am much happier than I used to be.
