In Texas, someone sees hazard lights and they think you're an emergency vehicle. So of course they'll tailgate, hoping you floor it and they'll get to where they're headed faster.

Once had a motorcycle tailgating me. As someone who rides myself this always annoys me. I had good distances between myself and the car in front of me so when I say the dead raccoon come out from under their car I knew I had enough clearance to go over it. However the bike right on my bumper had no time to realize it was there and hit it dead on. Luckily he did not wipe out but have to imagine the smell of the burning meat that most likely got all over his tailpipes was not pleasant.

haha i had a WRX tailgate me on a 3 lane highway as i just merged ( left onramp) onto it and of course im in the left lane for a few seconds so he decides to be a jerk and speed up and get all up in my butt didnt cut him off was doing about 70mph he was just being pressed a car was in front of him. well a utility van in front lost his ladder i had no problem going around but not the Subaru and he was flying. ran right into that big ladder tearing up his front bumper and fogs. idiot

my car stopped accelerating on the highway so i had to go from the left to right lane to get to the shoulder and this mf behind me was tailgating me so hard that he went on the shoulder that i was going to and got around me. and yes i had my hazards on some people are just desperate to save 3 seconds of driving

this why I love the distance feature on modern cars, i just set my cruise slightly above the speed limit and just let my car follow whoever is in front of me without tailgating.
