Today I lost my dearest toaster. After a hard fought 2,5h battle, the spring still wouldn’t stay down. I managed to undo all the screws and got inside. I used my carpet knife to clean the terminals that lead the current to the electromagnet that holds the spring down. I cleaned the soot off the terminals and even used 1000 grit sandpaper and spirit. I managed to redo all the screws and got everything back together, but it just didn’t have any life left in it. I tryed to revive it with electricity but still nothing. Finally I looked into the toast slots and then it hit me. It was the heater all along. It was burnt through. It means it went out with the bang. Someone toasted the last toasts and didn’t even notice that our little friend was screaming for help. I have to deliver the sad news to my girlfriend that our dear toaster is no more. Rest in peace little toaster!🫡 (24.12.2023-30.10.2024)🥀

I have an uncle who is part our clan, Macintosh. He has terminal stomach cancer. I was informed less than an hour to go that it could be minutes or hour of him left on this world. He's not ready to leave us but he's ready to meet the Lord. He passed away yesterday.

Rich history aboard your decks with the tales of many immigrants and celebrities, whom you delivered to our sunny shores from afar. Your duty is done, you fought to float, but in the end, they won. You went down a pinnacle of engineering, yet no one cared to save you. You went down a legendary blue ribbon liner, yet no one gave you a second glance. You deserved better, but reefed was the fate you got. You may rest now my lady, and may your memory and history never, ever rot. With the sinking of the SS United States getting closer and closer, I felt like it was appropriate to write this here. After all, what better funeral to give it than the funeral of legends that Vikings gave to their own? In a way, it kind of reflects what this country has done to itself, sinking into the waters with overstuffed pockets of gold.
