I 100% agree that people should be open about mental health and get the support they need. But you’re speaking about it as if therapy is there to “fix it.” Viewing depression (or any mental condition) like this is extremely unhealthy. If you look at depression this way, it causes guilt and sadness when it feels like you aren’t getting any closer to treating it when that’s not really the point of therapy. It is supposed to reveal all your hidden emotions “shake you up” so that as you can learn how to deal with them and heal under the guidance of someone experienced.
@teacher_mindset
@teacher_mindset Ай бұрын
Thank you for sharing your perspective! I completely understand what you're saying. Therapy is indeed not about 'fixing' a person but more about providing a space for self-discovery and healing. It’s important for people to recognize that the journey is unique to each individual, and healing doesn’t happen overnight. Therapy helps us understand and process our emotions, allowing us to learn coping mechanisms, and it’s a process of growth, not perfection. Your insight is valuable, and I appreciate you contributing to the conversation! 💙

Haha, I see what you did there! 😄 It’s definitely a creative way to look at it, though we probably should stick to using alcohol for external wounds and save the internal healing for a good chat or a therapy session! Cheers to that! 🍹💙

@teacher_mindset
@teacher_mindset 3 ай бұрын
Hi Maria! Welcome to the channel. There are a few different ways of overcoming procrastination. One is to break down a job into smaller pieces and work on accomplishing a piece each day. Another is to block your time - so you say 'okay, I'm going to work on this for 20 minutes'. Then, put a timer on. Once the timer goes off, you have the choice to either continue working on it or stopping and doing another 20 minutes tomorrow. Most importantly, watch a few videos and keep trying a different way until you find one that works for you! As a coach, this is what I often do with my clients. It takes some trial and error, but eventually we get there. Good luck!!

@@teacher_mindset the way a human learn is often they have to act first before they know to appreciate, so do in education. U dont question, just act and in doing that, u learn, thats why i said what i said in demand respect, dont question your mentor. Iam not american so i was worry i might come up as a bit agresssive. Also, it has to come from parents and the school itself too, or else the entitlement to disrespect is even greater. Even if they didnt learn anything in school, discipline and learn how to be respectful all the time into a habit will help them go a long way in life. May be make a motto on your classwall or banner, like "respect your mentor, knowledge is power" that kind of thing. Even as adult we would need that constant reminder.

Parents, neighbours, grandparents, regardless of who taught people it was probably mainly people with respect to God and good morals. In this time we have more people than ever who has parents, and maybe grandparents, who aren't Christian in any particular or meaningful way, and the only other people who teach young and children are teachers and other children. When teachers aren't allowed to teach the traditional good morals and when other children are as bad as the first one, how would they then be taught? Many parents don't take the time for their children either which will not help. Neighbours are supposed to mind their own business nowadays too, so no teaching from them.
