Great job. The 4x4's look good and you could park a truck on it. Like the extra touch of the dark stained edge banding. Nice contrast.

Why did you glue two 2x4s together instead of using a 4x4?

Hey there. Great work. The glue up of the 2x4s- why not use a 4x4? I get the dimensions are slightly different (actual 3.5 x3.5) but you were trimming/ jointing them anyway? Also- any concerns on the wood moving as it dries- assuming this was HD construction grade and not kiln dried(?).
@WeReno28 күн бұрын
Honestly we would have preferred using 4x4’s but it’s what we had on hand at the time. It was just construction lumber. We have had it for about 6ish months this now and have not noticed any significant movement. Everything still is lined up and tight. Thanks for the support. Hope you subscribe. In a little while we are going to be making a miter station for the new Bosch 12 miter we just got.

Great video ! I just found the final outfeed table design I was looking for and thank you so much for it ! For dust collection you just let the box fill up with sawdust and then you take it off from under the workbench, empty it and replace it?

Good to know on the coarse vs. Fine threaded pocket hole screws. I don't think I've heard that before. My boyfriend and i are getting ready to set up our first shop. So we're about seven or eight months behind you on experience. Wish us luck! :D

I have yet to see a DIY workbench that accommodates jigs that use the table saw t-track 🤔
@WeRenoАй бұрын
I’m not even sure I know what you mean exactly.
@jeffcampsall5435Ай бұрын
Like when using a cross cut sled. The sled slides in the t-tracks of the table saw but moves beyond the edges of the table saw surface.
@WeRenoАй бұрын
Gotcha. I haven’t needed a cross cut sled yet. So no need yet. If I ever do then I will. The miter saw has taken care of it all. One day I’m sure I’ll needed.

The saw is not level with the rest of table? Does it have an impact?
@WeRenoАй бұрын
Yes its intentionally slightly higher. You don't want it perfectly level or lower or the wood being pushed through will get caught.

@WeReno2 ай бұрын
No plans available unfortunately. We just built as we went. We knew the rough size we wanted that was it. One day we will reverse engineer it and make plans. We will let everyone know when that happens. Won’t be for a little while though.
@harryscratch2122 ай бұрын
Wish I could afford the timber to make such an edifice. If I did I would use half lap joints for the framework not screw into end grain as is demonstrated in one of the early sequences. The other alternative would be to dowel the joint at least that would give it some extra strength. The screws you used seemed too short to make much difference. Love the background effects of drills, mitre sawing and grunting, much better than distracting commentary which some makers use to inform viewers what's going on. 🫣
@WeReno2 ай бұрын
I’m sorry you can’t afford the lumber. Lumber is expensive these days. I understand why you would do all of that. Definitely would have been nicer and probably stronger. I how ever do not foresee any strength issues with the table down the road. Thanks for watching we greatly appreciate the support.

Which wood glue do you use?
@WeReno2 ай бұрын
On this build I believe we used lepage wood glue which is a Canadian glue. We are now using tight bond 3. I honestly prefer lepage as it’s not so runny but I probably just need time to get use to it. I’d recommend both honestly but pros (American) use tight bond 3.
