Nas has been my personal GOAT since 1994, and when I doubted, he solidified it with Stillmatic in 2001, but objectively he cemeted his status to me as the unequivocal GOAT with his last 6 albums. They didn’t do big numbers, but with Nas, it ages differently. Never on schedule but always on time.

Nas is number 1. Lyrics is too deep and untouchable.

I don’t think the album is slept on. In nas catalogue it is closer to the bottom as a full body of work. But the bottom portion of nas catalogue is better than a lot of people best ish. Regardless, every nas album some got joints. This was a double disc, so yeah it got some joints like this, thief’s theme, sekou story, message to the feds, war, and some other tracks.
