Yep they're still for sale, although not as common as they were 10 years ago. You can look up local Lowrey dealers though, or try online (eBay, etc).

What key board would you suggest for a beginner?

It all depends on what your goals are for playing! If you want to play piano, I'd always suggest an actual piano if it's possible. If it's not, definitely a weighted 88-note keyboard. If you're more into synths, beats, programming, etc., there are a ton of different options out there - I've always like Roland and Nord keyboards, but there are great offerings from Yamaha and others as well. Another option is to get a midi controller and use a program like Logic or Garageband (or tons of others) to get your sounds. Feel free to shoot me a message if you want! At the end of the day, get something and just start playing. You can always upgrade!
